(Rotten Tomatoes)   Re-watching Awakenings, starring Robin Williams and Robert DeNiro. Are there any medical professionals out there with thoughts on treatment back then and how it has improved?   ( divider line

Don't care. Still a hearttugger. Watching it with a date, and saw all the patients coming out of their catatonia, then getting a feeling there was still more movie, and seeing them slip back, I mumbled, "This isn't going to end well." My date asked if I had seen the movie beforehand.

yakmans_dad: Bathtub Cynic: How does a movie star Robert freaking Deniro and Robin Williams and this is the first time Ive ever heard of it? It must be farking depressing to never get brought up, ever.

It is as depressing a movie as has ever been made. It makes Melancholia seem like a lawn chair in a sunny garden.

As I said before, it takes a gutpunching turn, but it's not that depressing. It's your average 2021 pre-Steelers  Detroit Lions game.

Is that the one where Robin Williams looked really old, but was actually a kid who built a backwards clock, then had to make a wish at the Zoltar machine to find his girlfriend?
