They only put "F*ck Biden" because "Let's Go Brandon" wouldn't fit on the sign.

Dave Wasserman went from "Blue counties are a ghost town at the polls" at 9AM to "looks like the turnout in Blue counties are looking to match or exceed 2017 Governor election" this afternoon, so I have exactly zero clue how this will actually turn out (either governor or state house.)

If he does, part of it is due to the 18-25 year olds deciding that it was too damn hard to get up off their asses and vote.  Forgetting that if Youngkin wins, they can say good bye to legalized pot and a whole sh*t-ton of other things they got used to.

Nope, that includes early voting:

More than 1,167,659 ballots were cast as of 11 a.m. Included in that number are:
early in-person voting
Election day voting
306,000 people who voted by mail
88,000 mail-in ballots that the Dept. of Elections has yet to receive
That works out to 19.6% of registered voters participating so far in this election.

Moral of the story is no one has any farking clue how its going to turn out.

I'm tempering my expectations either way.

Last story I read said that early voting was actually around where it was in 2020.  So it might possibly be good news for McAuliffe.

People should have checked their ballots then.  I made sure to check that mine had been received almost every day after the 2nd day I mailed it.

They got it.

I actually heard a report that mail in and early voting is higher than 2020 so far. This was someone reporting from Virginia. However, they won't count all of that till later. Let's hope it's the GQP counting chickens before they have hatched.

I think I just hope there's a bunch of people who feel the same way I do. I will never ever even consider voting for a single republican as long as I live, and I will reliably vote in every single election in which I'm eligible. But honestly? I'm tired. I'm not putting signs up. I'm not going to rallies. I'm not wearing apparel. I'm not participating in any polls. I'll donate, but I'm not going to do it loudly. I'm not posting jack shiat on social media because I'm not going to get into a back and forth with idiots.

But I'm going to vote. Every single time.

I'd re-read that.  His statement is saying that turnout even in Blue districts is pretty good for an off-year election (hence, it's not 'falling through the floor', which would mean a lot less Democrats voting).  But that he can't tell at this point who is going to benefit from all of the people voting.

2021-11-02 4:57:16 PM
It's dumb but little outbursts like this help maintain the illusion of majority opinion, because people aren't seeing similar anti Trump signs.

Because the people who voted for Biden aren't in a cult, the lack of slavish devotion is seen as a weakness by the redcap brigade, which lets the talking heads go on TV or whatever livestream bullshiat they do and go "ACTUALLY Trump won by one thousand four hundred and eighty eight percent over whatever the China controlled Biden got!".

Which encourages dumb little outbursts because they think that the majority is on their side.

And the cycle repeats.

Part of the voting law change in Virginia was to make it so that early/absent votes are logged in and scanned ready for tabulation as soon the polls close to avoid these scenarios.

The thing I loved in the run up to the election is the discussion of how Virginia 'independents' were breaking against Biden.

The thing is, an independent in this state are Republicans who are ashamed to admit they actually are Republicans.  Which explains why they voted for Biden but are willing to let a sh*tstain like Youngkin try and buy the governor's mansion.  They just wanted Trump gone so they can go back to hating and screwing over anyone not like them.  In my 20+ years living here, I can't say I've ever met an independent that wasn't a dyed in the wool Republican.

This morning when be said that it looked like nobody showed up in Charlottesville he did include the early vote but missed the absentee ballots and deleted that tweet, and then a later afternoon said that Charlottesville had rebounded in the midday voting.

And a follow-up tweet to the one linked about Rockingham county points out that other Blue areas like Falls Church are outpacing 2017, it's just Charlottesville that is underperforming at the moment. He fully admits it is too soon to tell anything by the tealeaves.

This is like that guy who claimed to be an Obama-Clinton-Biden voter pulling the lever for Youngkin because of CRT, which he strongly disapproved of but couldn't actually describe a single aspect of.

Or the guy who claimed he was a long term Democratic voter but was voting for Youngkin because he overheard a teacher telling his kids class that white males were modern day slave owners (sure Jan), but has an extensive history of donating to GOP candidates (including for President) and his own tag on the county GOP website...
