MLB was probably just relieved that the illegal stream contents didn't end up being PEDs for once.

So if I tell a friend about a baseball game I watched, MLB can come and take me away?

What is the best way to stream pro sports without paying? Links would be helpful.
Don't want to give those useful idiots any money.

No. The problem involves profit. If you hold it at your home and require people to pay to come in and watch with you, that's when you get trouble.

What, they actually caught somebody? Given how much real hacker/extortionists get away with, I snort derisively at this amateurish effort.

No. They can say that, but that doesn't make it legally enforceable.

That still supports the sponsorships that net them a lot of money. It was gradual for me, but recognizing that watching sports was taking time from lots of stuff I really wanted to do more has been great. I played a lot as a kid, and watched a good bit of pro leagues for years, so I can appreciate the games. But ultimately, even as disposable entertainment, there are better options to me.

Getting compulsive access to all of the local teams' or a league's games does get pretty expensive too. I was never more invested than whatever I could get Over The Air, though I used to get to a decent number of MLB games.

It's a big part of culture, socializing, and even identity for a lot of people. If you're not willing to pay for it though, that sounds like your spidey-sense may be telling you it's not worth your time either.

I watch highlights on YT after the games end. Baseball games are 9 minutes long, NBA games are 12 minutes long, and NFL games are 12 minutes long. Fix ur sports.

NFL games used to be 20 minutes long, but we live in a deflationary sports environment.

My assumption is that an "account" of the game as MLB means it is doing, say, play-by-play without having broadcast rights.

The thing that really got this guy in trouble is that he was charging a subscription fee to access content for which he did not have permission to sell. That and the extortion.

MLB isn't likely to actually go after someone unless they're making money off relaying games without giving MLB a cut.

On average there is between 11 and 18 minutes of actual football action in a football game. If you are watching 12 minutes of football, you have seen pretty much every single play in the game. Not just highlights. The ENTIRE game.

Yes.  Drew is actually in cahoots with the MLB and the FBI.  Drew personally makes the FARK MLB playoff threads, and all user information, including IP address, is sent to the FBI for anyone posting game information in it to be arresticated and thrown in a cell with a big dude named Bubba.  It's all a giant conspiracy.  Wake up, sheeple.

not sure what type of editing gets you that low for a game with a near continuous clock and play.

Clock doesn't run in basketball unless the ball is in play.

Hockey and Soccer are only 30 seconds if you only watch the scoring plays.

Just because play is live that doesn't mean that there is anything worth watching in highlights.

If you count any time play is live, the majority of the time for a baseball game would count.

So your objection is that people and things can't instantly teleport from one end of a basketball court to the other, for instance? What do you want, people taking shots every second of active play?

Geez, you'd think they might spend more time on...I don't know...violations of Black people's civil rights by militarised police forces, governors who seem to think they have control over federal school funding, stuff that affects more people in the country.

Nope. If MLB loses a dime, the FBI is gonna track it down.

How is that much different for football or baseball? A football play lasts maybe 10 seconds. There are what, 9 scoring plays in a football game? So watching just those is about 90 seconds.

Baseball averages 9 runs/game. Figure there are 6 scoring plays (1 play can score multiple runs) and each one is about 10 seconds, give or take.

No. I am simply pointing out that just because the ball is in play doesn't mean something interesting is happening.

I didn't even suggest that is a problem. But if all you want to see is the action, you are cutting out the guy sauntering down the court just as surely as you are cutting the meaningless throw to first by the pitcher or the huddle in the NFL.

each sport is different on what is really key with the ball in play.

I missed the "highlights" part and thought you were referring more to the ability to watch all the plays of a football game in about 3 minutes if you cut out the stuff between snaps.

Baseball has a lot of "dead air" with a live ball. Take pitching the ball.  The minute that passes between the catcher throwing the ball back to the pitcher and the pitcher setting up, planting the foot, etc. can be cut.  The windup, pitch and miss/hit are key, but very short in actual time.  the time between pitches is painful.

With basketball, hockey, soccer, the motion without the ball is important.  How'd did he get open for the shot?  How'd that fast break occur?  How'd he miss that?  those carry more importance than a pitcher walking around the mound and resetting his plant foot three times.

Baseball really needs to fix its sport.  Basketball cannot do much to 'speed up' their game without cutting the time limit of the quarters.

carry on, I was the idiot who misread what you wrote.

I believe there exists a few misconceptions and misunderstandings concerning the Federal Bureau of Investigations having to do with what constitutes their purview, where their directives come from, and how the FBI is organized to make it possible to do more than one thing in a given moment. Unsuccessfully, it could be argued, but still more than one item.
