Does Dan Snyder run them too?

A friend of mine is a life long hawks fan and she is pretty much "burn it all to the ground now" about the whole thing. It is disgusting all that happened there but because of sports we have to cover it up for the good of the game. The one thing these idiots don't seem to get is when things like this happen they can get in front of it, take care of it and fix things maybe get a black eye over it. But they seem to just want to hide it and make it explode in their faces.

Joel Quenneville still has a job.  So does Kevin Cheveldayoff.

This league is a farking joke.

It's been gross watching Toews, Kane, and Keith say that they knew nothing about the incident or who the victim was when other guys who were on that team (Brent Sopel in particular) previously stated that pretty much everyone knew and the victim claimed he was later bullied in practice because of the assault.

But just like a 4 year old who steals an extra cookie and got away with it, and thus "learns" it's ok to do that, sports has been getting away with it for so long, why bother risking consequences when they're almost certain they can just sweep it under the rug and move along unscathed?

fark them, burn it all down.

And don't ever forget about it.  Leafs ownership tried very hard to bury Gordon Stuckless but we remember.  HIM, not the Cup drought, is the real shame on the Blue&White.

Hockey: greatest sport on the planet
NHL: an absolute joke of a league in so many ways

This whole situation is disheartening. The coverup, the lies, the slap on the wrist. Bergman isn't going to do shiat to Quenville about it.

Hell, they were bullying him years later when they were all on different teams.

Kane strikes me as the type of person who absolutely would bully someone with homophobic taunts. Toews less so, but he was immature back then as well as a budding star so he might have thought he was above decency at that time. Sopel has always been a stand-up guy, so it doesn't surprise me that he's been cited as one of the people corroborating the stories coming out about the bullying.

I wonder how much the Hawks helped in getting Kane's rape case to go away.

Kevin Cheveldayoff  is on his way to NYC and will meet with commissioner Bettman tomorrow. Cheveldayoff and the Jets didn't want to wait until Monday and requested the meeting be bumped up. The Jets have confirmed the meeting has been changed to tomorrow.

Oh good, perhaps he'll throw himself on a sword, instead of needing it jammed in him
