Are there people who put razor blades into candy anymore?  I have a feeling they were all shot on sight after 1985.

1977?

did the video remind the kids who started on their halloween beer before going home to put their pop tops back in the bag so nobody gets cut on them?
did it remind the people who handed out cigarettes to only give out light cigarettes because, after all, they *are* still children

Quit warning everyone!  Now I'm never going to be able to get rid of my used syringes.

4. Carry a flashlight.(Nice try, but kids will ignore.)

What kids do they know? As a kid I thought having a flashlight indicated some degree of danger or at least adventure and jumped at any excuse. Alas, my neighborhood and its environs were all aggressively street-lit; if I'd tried to carry a flashlight trick-or-treating the reaction would have been "you don't need it and will just get tired of carrying it, leave it at home" and that would've been that.

As an old Farker, I knew what video this was before I even clicked the link.  No on ever paid any attention to any of it, but at least it helped by adding an additional 10 minutes to the movies at school during Halloween.

Don't carry a squirt gun full of lighter fluid for lit pumpkins?

It's unnerving when moms come over to ask if my kid can play. Lady, your son is 10. No, mine can't come out to play. You'll follow them around and go crazy Karen as soon as one of them shows any sign of independence.

Oh that's nothing. There are people who do "trunk or treat" on Halloween night instead of trick-or-treating at all.

/Nothing wrong with trunk-or-treating, as long as it's not replacing the real thing.

One year when I was near the end of trick-or-treating age, I went to the same house across the street like five times with increasingly ridiculous costumes. He finally caught on when my "costume" was just regular clothes with a piece of duct tape stuck to my sweater.

I think that was just a rumor started by companies that wanted to sell huge bags of candy bars. I used to like getting homemade fudge and brownies and stuff. Some of the weird squares old ladies handed out were gross, but most of it was pretty good.
