Isn't it illegal to fly that without FAA cert? Maybe not in the US?

It's an ultralight under FAR 103- you don't need a license to fly one of those, along with things like hang gliders, powered parachutes and the like

That said, fly into controlled airspace on an ultralight and you're going to have a bad day.

I'd want it to come with a safety harness and software overrides for forcing coordinated flight only, collision avoidance, safe landing, and forced landing when power is low to ensure you're on the ground before the juice runs out.

Oh, and at 5% of the MSRP.

But give me those things and I'd try it.

True, it does not say that an ultralight has to have wings! Just primarily has to weigh less than 254 pounds and hold less than 5 gal of gas, so OK I guess.

So watching the video I notice that the 'pilot' has to remain very very still. Like the gyroscopes are probably not able to quickly compensate for a drastic weight change.

Good thing nothing unexpected every happens while flying!!

Software issue.  Seriously, there are consumer drones that are rock steady in moderate gusts, and college kids have had drones that can play ping pong.

If the pilot's body needs to be immobilized on this thing to be stable, the developers aren't done yet.

Yeah! sky cycles.

Just what we need douchebags of the sky. Incoming bodies falling out the sky 3...2...1

Would the pilot be able to use a radio over the sound of those props?

with a headset, sure

the pilot hearing would be tough with a handheld, but a simple old school earphone would work

noise cancelling mics have been around for years
