But, where are the good and honest right-wing news sites?

Oh, that's right, there aren't any.

Yes, I'm calling Facebook a right-wing news site.

but he can't watch any political talk shows.

You can go home violent, heavily-addicted drug abuser, but only if you promise not to do the drug you've been heavily abusing. Bailiff, escort the defendant to the bench to formalize this agreement with a pinky promise.

They certainly seem to be asking for it.

No, she should've kept him in jail.

Yeah, but the judge had to go easy on him to prove her impartiality, lest she get a reputation for being unfair to domestic terrorists and seditionists.

This is some idiotic shiat.  None of these assholes should be free. Most people get to sit in jail until their court date for fairly minor thing by comparison, yet these scumbags who tried to overthrow the government and attacked farking cops are being handled with kid gloves.  It's absurd.

So, lemme get this straight  -- because Fox will never be held responsible:  Media Misinformation from Fox is no more responsible for this man's violence than the any of the states were for racism -- everything in America is a mere reflection of bad character and poor decision making by the individual.

Right?

What, no Rachel Maddow exception?!

The slaps on the wrist and the "now, now, we don't do that" to the would be beer gut putsch continues, ensuring this will not only happen again but will be far more violent in the future continues.

The next time they will leave the methheads and functionally illiterate at home.

I don't like where this is going, America. You'd better push back hard and soon.

Fox is poison. Facebook is toxic. There's a difference, but both will kill you.

So, why is the guy not in a psych ward somewhere and NOT at his parents house? They kinda buried that one, he's not at home with his family, he's back in his mom's basement.

Letting these snowflakes free is bullshiat. It makes them worse.

Fox is a choice.  You have to invite it into your home.
Facebook is sneakier than that.

2021-10-28 7:15:19 AM
Well, yeah.

Fox News has turned the US into a dumb and deeply divided country.

It has radicalized the Republican base and incited multiple acts of political violence including murder.

It is a highly addictive drug and it is toxic.

I doubt he can even stop using that drug on his own despite the court order.

2021-10-28 7:18:37 AM
Really it's a toss up. Fox News is primarily in the US. Facebook is worldwide, and is implicated in genocide.

I've been assured this is fine. Republicans are on their decline, and the fact that people who tried to overthrow the government are getting little to no punishment means they'll never do it again.

does watching clips of said shows on YouTube count?

How about podcasts?

I am sure there is no harm in listening to the radio, even AM.

Yeps, that magic talking picture box is the culprit here!

In case anyone is unfamiliar, I recommend checking out the "Top 10 stories on Facebook" account on Twitter.  It's exactly what it sounds like - just a daily, quick recap of the 10 stories on FB with the highest engagement. That was really the straw that convinced me to kill my own FB account. Once you see "Ben Shapiro" and "Breitbart" listed 3 or 4 times in a single top 10 list, well...it's enough to make me lose my lunch.

I ditched Digg after right wingers smeared their poop all over it and FB is just drowning in a fascist port-a-potty right now.

Yea, I appreciate that posters optimism, but it does feel a bit off and odd given their recent return.

Brennwald, after consulting with Sibick, said that his client's response surprised him.

"I thought it might have been OANN or Newsmax, but it wasn't," Brennwald said. "It was Fox News."

"Wow," Jackson responded.

Question: Why the hell are these people surprised? I mean I wasn't surprised, not even a little. Were you surprised?

What? So... let me ask the obvious Q: how is that even monitored? Most privileged shiat I have ever heard. WGAF if you watch whatever... YOU are responsible for your actions.

Most cops are conservative. Most lawyers are. Most judges are. The legal system is absolutely letting these conservatives off with the lightest possible sentences and demands possible because simply "they are Republicans".

It makes sense to intelligent people.  For brevity I omitted words I thought were given.  The only thing I did that didn't make sense was to assume people here aren't idiots.

For those who didn't RTFA, the guy chose to be moved into solitary confinement in order to avoid contact with the other January 6th traitors in his cell block because their cult-like behavior became frighteningly obvious to him. He was also diagnosed some sort of mental illness, but it was sent to the judge under seal. However, the article mentions he blamed his participation in Jan 6th on a manic episode, so possibly bi-polar.

I deactivated my FB account this morning.  I may proceed to whatever it is they package as 'permanent cancellation'.  I don't know.  I avoided it pretty well for years with no ill effects.  A freaky thing that happened when I signed up is I got an friend request from a first cousin within seconds of the account creation.  That took me aback in large part because this person is nowhere on my list of favorite people.  They and their sibling make me rather nauseous.  Anyway, perhaps FB is the only way to keep in touch with some people I have known but my list of 'friends' consists of people I have not seen in years and years.  It seems sort of unfair, weird, and wrong to insist on maintaining what is at best a simulacrum of a relationship in these [most] instances.

I recently discovered the FB Messenger app on my phone.  I really don't remember adding it to my newish phone. So, I finally open it up recently to find that it is a complete inventory of all the messaging that I have ever done on FB, even stuff I thought that I'd removed from view or maybe deleted.  Nothing bad or evil, just things and people that I don't need to remind myself about with any great frequency like that last 'conversations' I had with people who have died, more specifically a suicide and another that I suspect was a suicide [not because of their contact with me on FB, I hope, as the news of their deaths came well after last contacts].  This is part of the abusive paradigms FB employs to gaslight its users at every opportunity.  I don't think that is simply just my opinion.

Then there's the Pandemic Factor.  While I contacted a _few_ people [independent of Facebook except for one other cousin] early on not a single person contacted me.  Zip.  And that doesn't bother me at all, really, as it simply reinforces any decision that moves toward cutting FB out as completely as possible.

I don't think I was alone in feeling a great sense of relief during the 6 hours that FB was down recently.  Please be permanent, I thought, just as I felt when the Mango Menace was booted off social media.  I strongly believe that we should be smacking down and correcting abusive behavior wherever we can.

This is great because the stupid is too hard to resist.

The charges the insurrectionists are facing are tricky to prove, risky to take before a jury, easy to plea bargain, and subject to all manner of appeals and reversals.

But violating a judge's order? See ya.

It's just weird how in general most people here aren't aligned with the party that is still trying to justify what they did this year. Do "right leaning" Americans ever question the treason and murder and hope for better?  Nobody really ever sees that.
