It will fail for the simple reason that "[existing app] for [unrelated niche market]" always fail.

It's not about the dogs. It's about connecting humans who have similar dog preferences. At least size wise. You aren't going to have a play date between a husky and a chinchilla, but maybe a husky and a retro.

I think you're half right.  The app will be used to match a human and a dog, and not in the cute way.

The downside of the app is that after 5 minutes of use, your phone forever smells like dogs' butts.
