Didn't an MLS guy come out a few years ago? Say what you want about the MLS but it's probably a higher lever than Aussie soccer.

And there are a couple other out players still active, just not at the top level. TFA mentions Andy Brennan of Australia, and Collin Martin, who notably came out during his MLS career, has since fallen to whatever we're calling the tier-2 league this year.

The player you're thinking of is Robbie Rogers, and he did play for the LA Galaxy after coming out.

Rogers came out in 2013 and played four more years...

The BBC is simply wrong.


The BBC is simply right. Rogers is not a current player.
