Why can't he OR SHE be an irked bomber?  Irked Bombers deserve our attention just as much as Mad Bomber

And shouldn't we be referring to them as Possibly Mentally Unstable Bombers?

I'd blow up the crap out that place if I had a bomb and a ride to that place.  But I'll just sit here and post stuff instead.  I'm just not that angry.... yet.

In fairness, we don't own most of the river.  Smart money is that this is West Virginia's insanity.

Subby here - your resident WV farker from Vienna, WV, firmly parked on the Ohio River!
AND I ACTUALLY GOT A GREEN!

Every day, I look out my living room window and watch barges from AEP and other companies shuttle literal metric tons of coal up and down the river, and the rail tracks next to my house cart around tens of thousands of petrochemical products. There are the better part of a dozen different oil/gas/petro/recycling/other plants and factories that dot the river between Marietta Ohio, Parkersburg/Belpre WV, and Vienna - dead smack in the middle.

We're also the general area (Parkesburg) of the whole Dupont C8 thing and, as a bonus, Manchin is our representative here.

A few fun facts:
- The Ohio is one of the most toxic rivers in the country
- The EPA has a limit on how many fish you can safely eat every year without getting cancer
- I'm not 100% sure, but given that there's a water pump a block from my house (and again, my house is next to the river), I assume that at least some of the water that comes into the local area is straight from the Ohio (after being filtered like mad)

Nobody has any idea what's going on with this or who's doing it. The furthest one was upstream about an hour's drive, but this one is less than 20 minutes from my house - and it all feeds the same river traffic.

If someone blows one of these, it's not the concern of "Oh man, is my house gonna go up?!" as it is, "Holy shiat, let's make an ecological disaster in one of the largest metro areas in the Mid Ohio Valley," which, granted, is relatively small (the immediate area of Marietta, Belpre, Vienna, Parkersburg is roughly only about 60,000 people). However, we've had several different major environmental disasters in the last decade including a massive warehouse fire in 2017 that was full of unused PVC and other recycled plastic from the Dupont and other plants nearby, the Shell Chemical Fire back in the 1990s, C8 in general... and you get the idea.

I once went to a Bonham/ELP concert in Cincinnati that overlooked the river. I was so bored by the concert I spent most of the time just staring at the barges rolling by.

/Got nothing of substance to add to this thread.

I went down that river once when I was a kid.  There's a place on the river, I can't remember where, must've been a gardenia plantation or a farm plantation at one time but it was all wild and overgrown now.  But for about five miles you'd think that heaven had just fallen on the Earth in the form of gardenias.

My parents live up near Moundsville, up north of you. Did you hear about the shuttered plant on the river where they found bombs when they were showing it to prospective new owners? Yeah, they didn't end up buying it.
