Is that the prices for the end user, or for the companies renting them?

The end user price is 3 times the prices of end user price in normal countries, so, not impressive.

The other side: Cable trade group NCTA said its members are on the path to delivering 10 gigabit speeds per second.

- Eventually
- In very, very, very select neighborhoods
- With data caps restrictive enough to keep you from using it
- Don't even ask about the cost

"Roughly 83 million Americans have only one choice for a home internet provider"

ummm, that's not a choice. From Webster:

"the act of choosing :the act of picking or deciding between two or more possibilities"

I'm sure I still have a few AOL 3.5" floppy discs in the attic along with my first computer, a 386-SX-16MHz.

It's still a choice. You can choose to get gaped by a provider that's a monopoly or not have internet service.

I'd expect cable companies to try to kill this in the crib. Can't let the plebs get gigabit speeds for less than $150 a month now, can we.

/and yes, I RTFA and saw the part where Mediacom is trying to kill something similar in Des Moines

CSB,

I was taking a smoke outside of AOL HQ when Ted walked up and asked me to let him through the door. I held up my pass and asked him if he was authorized to enter. He gave me a dirty look

F*ck him, I thought it was funny.
