I'm holding out for squidcoin.  It's going to be a game changer.  Just you wait.

On a whim, I picked up 20,000,000 Shibs for $190 a while back. While I understand that they have no intrinsic value, and I stand to lose my entire $190, it has been quite fun watching it soar. $1250 as I post this. And there is no way I'm selling anytime soon.

question_dj: I might have traded some of my lesser performing, interest-bearing crypto holdings for some Shib. If it hit a penny, i'd be psyched.

This.  If you threw $1000 at it and it rose to a penny, you now have $160,500.

Not saying that will happen, but bitcoin to me has always been a high risk/potentially high reward type thing.

Or you lose it all.  But hey, that's gambling.

Whoops, I mean investing in crypto.

Markoff_Cheney: EVERY PRICK INTO CRYPTO MAKES IT EVEN LESS APPEALING, JUST SAYING. Keep destroying the planet wasting resources solving math problems for imaginary art tokens or whatever the fark.

I keep telling you, the main point of cryptocurrency is to fix the problems of traditional currencies by putting the power and responsibility in the currency holders' hands.  The advantages of using the cryptocurrency are its peer-to-peer focus that removes intermediaries and its pseudonymous design that eliminates the need for identification information for both parties.

It's not like it's imaginary money that only holds value if both parties feel it holds value without any government oversight that can disappear in an instant.

As for NFTs, now you can say "I own that meme, it belongs to ME!" after it becomes an internet sensation and you can sell it on a T- shirt for bank, and only you, and you can prove it in a basketball court of law, because you own the NFT.

Now, who wants ice cream?
