Sounds like fall is arriving,

Hmm, Dark Mysteries of Halloween is on the Sci Chan.  That should be spoocy!

2021-10-26 9:06:02 PM
Spooky, even.

2021-10-26 9:17:45 PM
Sorry, finishing some work.

crypticsatellite: Sorry, finishing some work.

At least you're not getting scared on the Sci Chan.

2021-10-26 9:26:59 PM
Bodies decaying for science, ghost town... scary stuff for Science.

2021-10-26 9:41:16 PM
Now the dead reindeer.

So, I got all 24 free software packages from IK Multimedia.  The sale is still going on for a couple of days.  I picked up the iRIG HD2 guitar interface to iPad.  I have high hope for it, but that should enable another 25 free SW packages.

Coming up, The Viking Hall of Death!

2021-10-26 9:54:28 PM

IronTom: Coming up, The Viking Hall of Death!

OK. Coming back!

2021-10-26 10:05:15 PM
Oh, freaking sinkholes.

2021-10-26 10:05:53 PM
No sinkholes around here, luckily.

2021-10-26 10:06:04 PM
Discovery has "Destination Unkown."

2021-10-26 10:06:28 PM
There're also Oak Island show on.

2021-10-26 10:08:38 PM

crypticsatellite: There're also Oak Island show on.

Yes.  Destination Unknown has Jesse James.  Sinkholes would probably be better.  could try Oak Island, unless you've seen this one.

OK. Oak Island it is!

2021-10-26 10:10:45 PM
Weird. Now, I don't see Oak Island anywhere.

"Finding Bigfoot" on Animal Planet. Hahaha

2021-10-26 10:12:12 PM
Oh, Oak Island is on at 11PM

2021-10-26 10:12:39 PM
We've got a bombogenesis going on 'round these parts.

2021-10-26 10:15:37 PM
What channel is Oak Island?

2021-10-26 10:16:01 PM

crypticsatellite: Oh, Oak Island is on at 11PM

OK, there is something else on there now.

2021-10-26 10:17:15 PM

IronTom: What channel is Oak Island?

History. Yeah, Cities of the Underworld or something is on. With Ecmo's fave host.

2021-10-26 10:18:10 PM
Cities of the Underworld or Jesse James..  One of my neighbors said that they were descendants of Jesse James..  I always wondered if they had Jesse's buried treasure, b ut they have moved on, to parts unknown.

2021-10-26 10:20:48 PM
I put on Cities of the Underworld.

crypticsatellite: We've got a bombogenesis going on 'round these parts.

That sounds pretty scary.   Stock up your basement and charge your cell Phone!   If I had my own forest, I would put up a ham radio antenna to call for help in case of being swallowed up into a sinkhole.

Maybe they discovered it and just faded away into a life of luxury.

I have thought about that. The ham radio part, not the sinkhole part.

Which show are you on now?

2021-10-26 10:25:55 PM
For some reason, a wire finally shorted through on my AC last night, and the batteries of the temperature controller leaked too.   These long-term events are really mysterious sometimes, you know, like when a book is on a slope and after days or weeks it finally slides off.  All of a sudden enough vibration scraped through the insulation and it shorted out.  That is like MTBF, mean time between failure, but more suspicious, like black cats and pumpkins suspicious.

Cities of the Underworld, although Jesse seemed more attention-grabbing/  How about you?

I'm on that one, too.

The shaft to hell!

2021-10-26 10:35:26 PM
Oh, yeah. I want a LIDAR.

2021-10-26 10:36:49 PM
That's some cool tech.

2021-10-26 10:37:25 PM
They should send a robot in, in case there are booby traps.

Especially when they blow the imagery up to a full screen moving image.

Definitely the wave of the future.  The Navy is using that a lot, because no two ships are build exactly the same, even  if it is the same class of ship.  If they want to put a new big piece of hardware on it they scan it and turn it into a 3D model that they can try placing the new eq in and seeing if they can even get it into that space from the outside.

Yeah. I still want one for a drone.

Looked kind of like a ... Bigfoot!

2021-10-26 10:54:30 PM
I want to make my own Codex. Like the Voynich Manuscript.

Yes, I could predict the most likely path a Kaiju might take by mapping the land.

Sort of like you did with the sun for planting things.

I bet that the Templars had a different name for the island.

crypticsatellite: I even bought this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085BTCJ1W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That looks like the monster book from Harry Potter that hides under the bed and bites.

They found a Lead cross.  Does Lead rust?  They way that radioactive things like Uranium eventually decay and become Lead.  Not sure if that means that it doesn't rust, but maybe?

Hmm, searching the Internet indicates that Lead does not rust.

That is good to know.

lead is corroded by alkalis at moderate or high rates, depending on aeration, temperature and concentration. It is attacked, for example, by calcium hydroxide solutions at room temperature, including waters that have been in contact with fresh Portland cement.
