George Motz. Huh. I didn't miss anything.

His book Burger America is handy if you do a lot of travelling off the beaten path.  Lots of burger joins in the middle of nowhere.

Eh. Burning himself aside (and assuming you can get past his eccentric personality) his show isn't bad. He has a pretty good command of technique (again, burning himself aside), as well as a good understanding and respect for the history of the burger.

I like my burger videos to feature beautiful classical music, loud swearing from a tattooed Canadian, heartfelt family moments, multiple interruptions by the sound guy, and existential despair.

George Motz is a lot of fun to watch. I've made a few of the burgers he's brought to light and enjoyed most of them.

I'll have to check out his work, as someone who competed in Food and Wine's build a better burger competition I'm always on the lookout for inspiration for something new to try on the grill.

Honestly can't stand the guy, but yah, he appears to make some tasty burgers.

My opinion of him constantly burning himself is that it's a shtick for clicks, laughes, and likes.

That might be true; I still get a kick out of his wacky persona/schtick though, but I can see how he wouldn't be for everyone.

He does certainly expose me to some cool ideas though,

Who the hell cooks for any period of time and still has finger tips that sensitive?
Dude should be able to scrub a hot flat top clean using only his hand calluses.

Eccentric? no. Dumbass, yep.

Motz is fine and he's pretty knowledgeable about burgers. If you haven't seen him before, this is like being introduced to Star Trek by the blooper reel where the door doesn't open and then pronouncing the whole thing to be utter crap.
