I actually appreciate people that advertise their ignorance and bigotry. Tells me where to avoid. My wife and I are beginning the process of downsizing now that most of our children are away in college. We looked at a house Saturday and realized within 30 seconds we weren't interested because the neighbor has a blue lives matter flag in the front yard. That told me everything I need to know about that neighborhood

For those not from the area, there is North Jersey, and South Jersey. Don't listen to those who claim a "Central Jersey", they are only saying it exists because they need something from one side or the other and are playing an angle.

Look at a map and look at the highway 287. Its basically a beltway of NYC. Inside it its just NYC style politics and values (with some exceptions because we have Italians). On the northern borders of it its upstate NY or PA values.

On the southern end of it, its farking Alabama.

You basically know everything you need to know where someone stands in NJ by asking them what they call a particular pork product.

Oh and ocean county is where your drunk uncle tony moves to because his buddy Tony hooked him up with a city job he can "fall off the ladder on" on his third day and get a pension.

Serious answer, there is a shortage of Temp-Tee cream cheese, and every supermarket has signs up to stop asking when it will be back in stock.

But that is the price you pay for a good bagel.

The whole state is only 150 miles long. You can't possibly have that much distinction from one end to the other.

It's like when they used to have smoking and non-smoking sections in restaurants - it sounds like a nice idea but the whole place ends up stinking anyway.

Don't listen to this guy, he's full of static. There is a whole section of western New Jersey that is completely different from the shore in the north and central and south all I have there a certain demographics.

I lived in NJ for eleven years, in Rumson, Tinton Falls, and Lawrenceville. The route back and forth across the state basically cut through the middle. It was mostly fairly distinct from above and below. In the middle, the people on the shore side were more laid back, but there was less difference between them and Princeton-area people than mountain/smog people to the north and swamp people to the south.

2021-10-26 4:09:59 PM
But the Confederate flag is about southern heritage, not slavery or racism so that part is strictly coincidence and irrelevant to the story

New Jersey, the Garden State is the most densely populated state in the US (1,218 people / mi^2). The county I am in has a population density of 550 people / mi^2. Essex County, the county that has Newark, NJ, has a population density of about 6843 people / mi^2.

Cape May County, the southern most tip of NJ, is about 379 people / mi^2.

NJ varies greatly.

its a very diverse state which is awesome. But Princeton people are either working there or in Philly, or on the Dinky, which, is it even still around? Its an enclave.

I mean Howell is a classier version of Toms RIver.

because that could be entertaining...and help me determine if i can contentedly live out the rest of my life without visiting new jersey.

New Jersey is awesome, except like anywhere, there are some bits that aren't. But rest assured, no one there cares if you visit or think so. It's an amusing thing to discuss sometimes.

Seriously, we are an awesome state. Within an hour from my house i have good beaches, historical sites, hiking, skiing, camping, NYC, solid mass transit (i do like to shiat on NJT, but compared to the rest of the country) if you need it, some of the best and top museums and restaurants in the world, a very diverse community, some of the best schools in the country if not the world, and people that are farking curt, but good farking people.

There is kind of a roll with it thing. You roll with Jersey it will roll with you.

Whats your farking problem, you don't know how to roll?
