She's moving in an historic mansion? How does that work, eggzackly?

Well...bye

I don't think Mr Reyes is going to find rural Indiana to be as welcoming.

I'm honestly not sure who she is, but with a name like that I'd assume it's something I'm just not interested in.

I see something about a tattoo shop, but that's actually not that special?

I'd assume googling the name is going to trigger my work filter, judging by the name...

She had a reality show about tattooing. That's the extent.

And something about banging Sandra Bullock's husband, if I remember correctly.

I vaguely remember her name being on some car contest or giveaway tied to Fark years ago. So I'm guessing some admin (or Drew) REALLY has a thing for her.

Who?

She got tired of California? This won't be the first nor it is the last.

Switzerland County, IN is very empty.  There are like 10,000 people in the whole county.  The nearest actual city is Madison and it's not big.  That's going to be quite a change from LA.

Nobody wants to live in California.  It's too crowded.

I've been locked into the instagram algorithm for unique retro house listings (A-frames especially) and I gotta say, I absolutely see the appeal of moving to a small town to buy/renovate an interesting house for a great price. F*ck the cities, f*ck the snobby ass suburbs, give me a badass Frank Lloyd Wright knockoff home that backs up to a huge forest.

She's had rumors of anti-Semitism and neo-Nazism the last few years that she can't seem to shake off.

Yeah it's gonna be a switch but from the sounds of it she's made millions doesn't have to work and wants to relax in the middle of nowhere after 30 years living in Atlanta I can see the logic and appeal

There was something about her and anti-vaxxing and Nazism a while ago. And some internet-famous makeup dude. And this is far, far more than I care to have absorbed from social media.

I grew up in a small town.  Here's why I would only visit and not live there - because I have kids and Real Americans do not value education whatsoever.  You don't want to raise kids in a community that reinforces the idea that education is stupid and doing well in school is frowned upon.

Another problem is that everyone is all up in your business.  You can't do a damn thing anonymously.

And there are no museums, no live music, and maybe 1 community festival.  The big thing will be a car show every Friday at the local diner.  That's all you get.  Eventually, it's just you in your beautiful house with nothing to do but look at the woods.

And the mansion is (supposedly) haunted!

Sorry to anyone who thought they'd seen the last of her on reality TV. She has a brand new angle ready to exploit.

There's a lot of different kinds of smaller towns, they're not all Real America F*ck Yeah towns.

Besides all I want to do is look at the woods anyway.

"Huge forest"? This is Indiana we're talking about. Everywhere you want to go other than a feed store or a gas station involves getting on an interstate highway that runs for 40 uninterrupted miles through corn fields as far as the eye can see.

Hi, Rural American here. I live in a small town and there's a lot more to it than your stereotypes. Amenities might take a little longer to drive to but there are museums, live music and festivals of all types within a 45 minute drive. As far as education, just like everywhere some people value it and some don't. Also woods are great to look at

"Last year, she cited California's "terrible policies, tyrannical government overreach, ridiculous taxing, amongst so much more corruption" as her motivations for moving to moving to rural southern Indiana, as well as a desire to live in a small town and be closer to nature."

I'm sure she's going to find rural Indiana both welcoming and accommodating.

If you only look for feed stores and gas stations from the interstate, then that's all you'll ever see duuude *bong hit*. Also I'm not saying I'd move to Indiana lol, no thanks, but there are cool little places everywhere if you explore.

No, he was playing hide the salami with a delightful young lady named "Bombshell" McGee. If I recall correctly, she was/is also some kind of Nazi sympathizer. Why I remember any of this is beyond me.

Former Indiana resident here. Indiana, at least Northern and middle Indiana outside of Indianapolis, is an awful, empty boring piece of shiat. It's all farmland. I realize people need farmland for food and everything, but it's boring as fark.

All of Rural America isn't the same all over. I love hiking and state and national parks. But some places are better than others.

I'm not knocking people who want to live out in the sticks or calling rural residents stereotypically dumb or ignorant, but driving 45 minutes for anything interesting is pretty farking annoying. That's why people have largely migrated to suburbs and cities.
