It could easily be suspenseful like 'Alien.' You could come up with all sorts of ugly, bad creatures.

/Then give them Jamaican accents!!

They need have Scorsese do a saga tracing the rise of Jabba's crime family.

Just film this book, it's a decent enough story.

Jar-Jar Binks and sullen Teenage Anakin in "The Road to Anchorhead" -- 178 minutes of the wackiest sand-laden shenanigans this side of Dex's Diner! Featuring every word of dialogue written personally by George Lucas and edited by...George Lucas! You'll laugh your bantha off!

Maybe some survival-horror following a squad of troopers on Endor after the Death Star goes down.  Environmental impacts, Rebel patrols and being hunted by Ewoks for food.

Well, the first one anyway.

The Clone Wars series did some horror-esque episodes. Like the Geonosis brain worms episodes. Plus, Yoda dealing with his own dark impulses. There's definitely some room to explore stuff. From creepy Sith tombs, Force munching monsters, Sith assassins, and more. Star Wars has had monsters galore, and Force witches and plenty of Force ghosts and creepy spirits. Young Jedi going on their search for their first lightsaber crystals was always a good chance to show some of the creepier aspects of what untamed emotions can do. Heck, plenty of just plain giant monsters like the Zillo Beast or Trandoshin pirates gutting an abandoned ship. Republic Commando did a great horror based mission with that premise alone, and it was creepy and atmospheric, though it eventually gave way to action, if smugglers tried to pick apart a Star Destroyer for salvage, and then were happened upon by pirates or maybe went to a planet for Imperial salvage and wound up creepy pirates who wound up getting a hold of Sith Holocron and the one Force Sensitive in their lot cracked it open to discover horrors from beyond the known galaxy. Force Witches have plenty of lore already. It's a genre that has been sort of touched on by books and series, but a full on film? Plenty of ground to cover and still be creepy.

I remember that. The story was moving along really well, and then they show up out of no where. After that, the book went to crap.

Darth Vader Vol. 2, #18. Vader tasks Tarkin with trying to kill him on some godforsaken planet as a return 'favor' for something he did for Tarkin some time back. Tarkin isn't sure what or why he'd do so, but nonetheless he assembles a crack team of people hand-picked to exploit every possible weakness Vader has. It goes about as well as you'd imagine for just about everyone but Tarkin

Sure, why not give Star Wars the same treatment as Marvel?

Give us a horror story. Give us a heist movie. Give us a sitcom. I'll watch it all.

Just don't make it about the friggin' Skywalker family.

ALL OF THIS. and fark spoilers. Han and Chewie OF
GOD
DAMN

have to show up because in an infinite galaxy there are only so many people and Quantum Han and immortal Chewie just HAVE to be in every story ever written under the star wars brand.
Seriously I've slummed around in some truly awful zombie-lore stories.
This was maybe one of the worst.

There was an episode of Rebels where an Imperial droid was stalking their base that had some decent horror elements (droid-on-droid horror, mostly, but still pretty effective). The writers didn't have the guts to commit to it, unfortunately.

Someone else mentioned something in the slasher genre with Vader...
