I agree with @JohnWDean that AG Garland should appoint a Special Counsel to investigate Trump's Attempted Coup and the Trump Insurrection - but a Special Counsel far more effective and less snail-paced than Robert Mueller and very much more disciplined and focused than Ken Starr.

The thing the teacher didn't address is the fact that it's taught in breadth, not depth - just enough so kids can pass the state standardized test and just enough so that they don't have to discuss those sticky wickets of treating human beings like property.

I taught at a majority black high school in South Fort Worth back in the late 00s. We were told to skip the Civil War and slavery because they didn't want to upset the students & parents and we replaced it with test prep for the standardized tests.
