Was coming here to say the same thing. My whole life I've always had a hard time finding a size and cut that fits me perfectly. I have one pair now, strictly for yard work/cold weather (along with some fatigues).

I wear leggings/jeggings now for pantswear.

Tik Tok as the arbiter of today's fashions. Pfft. Why, back in my day we had cousin Ronnie, who hated his parents, hated school, hated sports, and loved to breakdance. He had Bugle Boy parachute pants made out of Korean War era Army surplus ripstop nylon, with spray painted anarchy symbols, that could survive the gnarliest downrock moves and the occasional BB gun shot. He washed them in the creek on a big ol' rock and hung them on high school's flagpole to dry with nary a photograph to prove it and WE LIKED IT!

Re: skinny jeans - if your style can't exist above a certain size, it's not gonna make it in the long run. I average at least 25000 steps a day, and I'm sure you couldn't get my calves into skinny jeans, let alone my thighs.

\same reason I can't drop a size in jeans - even the relaxed ones can't deal with my leg size

My preteen daughter's favorite shorts are "Mom Shorts" from Levi's. She loves them and likes higher waistlines in general. Waistlines have definitely moved upwards the last few years and I don't mind in the least. The high-waisted looks today don't seem as frumpy as those of yesteryear.
