Johnny had been to military school and Joey was OCD.  Despite their difference, they both had a strong work ethic which rubbed off on the rest of the band.

I like that after everything he's done, the headline still calls him "Happy Days'" Ron Howard.

Imagining Richie Cunningham hanging with the Ramones is almost as jarring as seeing Jackson Browne in the Velvet Underground documentary.

We're lucky the talent of John Lennon didn't react with the anti-talent of Donnie Most and kill us all.

You've got John Lennon on one apex of the triangle, The Fonz on the opposite one, and then you've got Potsie Webber (aka the Dren) completing the triumvirate!

Well sure, if we're going by Happy Days canon, Lennon couldn't have been more than 17 or 18 in that photo.

Honestly, Rock and Roll High School is a film that's elevated by Corman's cheapstake production value, coupled with a cast that all turned up to farking work. The Ramones weren't terribly good actors, but they didn't need to be. They hit their marks, they did their songs, and then PJ Soles and Dey Young could do all the heavy lifting.

Oh, I heart PJ soles in basically anything 70's and 80's.  She's adorable.

its still surprising to me that johnny would have agreed to rock and roll high school.  he just seems like a kerry king type of personality, like a  "no, we're punks. we're not doing this".  I'm glad they did it because its a pretty good snapshot of both the ramones and what I envision the 70's being like, given that i wasn't born until 81.

RnR High School is a great, stupid movie and one of my top favorites, right after Citizen Kane (I am not joking). Really stupid gags that are just right, and it's a teen comedy that doesn't resort to raunchy humor and scantily-clad girls (looking at YOU, Porky's) (not to say I didn't appreciate PJ Soles in her underwear).  Add the Ramones, Mary farkin' Warnov and Paul Bartel, and you've got a winner.

I have it in my cart on Amazon. Just waiting to see a price drop before I get it. Hmm at $19.94 for blu-ray, but only $29.99 for BHS to get the real experience.

They Howards were on "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" this week. I kept waiting to see if they'd ask Clint about his Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mtv Movie Awards. The producers realized as soon as they gave it to him and he graciously accepted it, they ruined their goofy award. Previous recipients included Chewbacca and Godzilla. Found the list and forgot Jackie Chan got it, don't recall if he accepted it.
