To have any pipes left at all, much less enough to do a real performance... he's never been a favorite of mine, but I can't deny the capability there - kudos

"This Magic Moment."

Did anyone else have another song pop into their heads and suddenly found themselves reeling in horror?

Also a bit of a pun, since many of the younger generations became fans of his after Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy II featured "Come A Little Bit Closer" in its best action scene.

That man certainly could sing.    Here he is performing at almost 80 years old.

I was in a band that covered "...Closer", ridiculously fun song to play.

IIRC he was also John Gotti's favorite singer and sang at a bunch of his private parties.

Whatever pays the bills I guess.

Tom Jones is in that category. Still has the pipes at 81. What little he has lost is more than made up for by having a bit more "richness" in his singing.

For a moment there, I thought that America had had a moment of clarity and cancelled that basic ass sh*t. Instead, we lost another cultural touchstone.

And here I thought they canceled that stupid TV show.

Double sad. Guy had a great voice and was a celebrity that didn't turn into a terrible human - a rare thing.
