Every male farker and a few of the females wince when they see or hear mention of a slatted chair.

No fair, Drew.  I keep submitting my optical illusion scrotum and it never, ever gets a green light.

No, that's fantastic.
I actually said aloud: "ohmahghadthosearelittletinychairs"

My very first thought!

Pretty cool optical illusion and an interesting chair but when he turned it around and started taking out the tiny chairs I squeed! I want the chair now!

Is it really an optical illusion if nobody can see it?

jclaggett: Fine... I'll dig up the link and post it.

Interesting. That is enshrined in my memory, but happened a year and a half before I joined.

Wonder if I was lurking back then, or if it just was referenced later on.

Well, for anyone new that didn't know...enjoy.

Not really fractal.

(Fractal would be like if you pulled out an exponentially increasing number of little chairs.)

That guy has an amazing Instagram account. I believe it's his full time job to make visual tricks like that. This one was pretty underwhelming compared to most of his stuff. The link probably mentions it but I think his name is Zach King

I still can't decide if I was a lurker and remember that thread live, or if I stumbled across it later on after joining.

I know I lurked for a good while, so I guess either is possible.

Schrödinger's Mandela Effect or something.

Actually, my daughter had discovered Fark shortly before that thread and just happened to hit on that thread that day. She started reading it, cackling like she was laying eggs, and came and drug me to the computer telling me about the thread. I had no idea what I was in for that evening when she scrolled back to the top and we read through the thread just laughing ourselves breathless.

I lurked for quite a while before feeling brave enough to jump in and I was really an intermittent user in my early years and there have been long stretches when I had no computer so I was MIA here. I've loved being able to pick so many expert brains over the years. Fark has a lot of really good minds and wits and I still get hit with cool new information all the time.

I feel like I took a major break "during *those* years" because ...well yeah. But I've enjoyed being back. And even got my first handful of greens just in the last few months. So...yay me?
