It's funny to think that if some new scandal starts at one of the Watergate complex's buildings today, it would be called Watergategate.

I was 10 when I saw that and didn't bother to hit IMDb to check.  Willard just sounds more rat-like of a name to me.

With apologies to the late Mr. Scott.

In a just world, everyone there would have been arrested already, and drug in front of a federal judge and sentenced for the most serious charges possible (sedition, conspiracy, whatever sticks).

Of course, white rich people have a different justice system.

What truly  pisses me off is there is such intellectual laziness when it comes to political scandals usually on the domestic front. Just throw a "gate" at the end wash rinse repeat. Think, at this point of time one should come up with a better handle. It was lazy thirty years ago and it is more than embarrasing now.

This should buy Eastman a request to come to talk to the 1/6 Committee.

Eastman has more recently distanced himself from the memos, telling the National Reviewon Friday that the options he outlined did not represent his advice. He said he wrote the memos at the request of "somebody in the legal team" whose name he could not recall.

Either he wrote them, or he knows goddamn well the name of who told him what to write.

"what they claim was a legal strategy to reinstate Trump for a second term."

Lol, "legal". That's a sov-cit style of legal if I ever heard one. Even if you somehow managed to temporarily block Biden from being certified, that doesn't do shiat to make Trump president.

If a sitting pres could just weasel his way to a second term by ignoring election results, don't you think a weasel would have done it already? Or is Trump the first true weasel to ever infect the office?

What a bunch of buffoons.

Some guy you don't know asks you to write up a plan to overturn an election and overthrow the US, and you do it and don't get his name?  Yeah, that's believable.  I made some pipe bombs for a random guy last week, but I didn't get his name.  Hope everything worked out for him.

Because a substantial part of the media will bend over backwards to not say anything that might offend the fascists' delicate fee-fees.

And reporting that the "1/6 unscheduled tourists" were a terrorist insurrectionist attack planned by the Traitor of Traitors would do exactly that.
