I want to hear more from the guy who chose a red marker and a black bristle board for a sign.

There's two signs like that, held by different people. Maybe that's some kind of "thing" in the anti-vax movement?

Good. Let all these people learn the power of unions. Those that survive, that is.

Argh, news rooms, don't use "jab." That's the word we can use to identify content farms telling fake stories about how they're just an average person in Nevada who got the "jab" and now have a third tail.

This plant has jobs between $70K and $130K a year but Walmart has some openings if you don't like that.

Careful, make sure your dream job in retail, food service or hole digging doesn't also have a vaccine mandate also.  Also, may wish to get the 'rona now before you lose your health care coverage.

LOL.  There are three signs actually.  I didn't even notice that.  I only saw the one idiot in the bottom left holding the sign at his legs.  If the goal was to have a sign that was completely unnoticeable - they win.

Is yours

There is no "freedom" side in this war.  There's the virus side and the human side.  Freedom is siding with the virus, I'm afraid.

As soon as that OSHA Emergency Temporary Standard hits the Federal Register, there will be lawsuits filed* to block it. The question is whether the court (likely the DC Circuit Court of Appeals) will issue an injunction against enforcement while the lawsuits proceed. I wouldn't take bets either way. If they don't enjoin the rule, then someone will go to the SCOTUS asking them for a stay of enforcement while the case proceeds. With the current court, I would lean toward them granting a stay, but who knows?

*Probably by three groups: Workers, some companies, and some states. It will be interesting to see if any Federal Court says a state, which isn't subject to OSHA, has standing to sue.

FTA: Dean Grazioso, a 33-year Bath Iron Works employee, said he's not anti-vaccine but that he knows vaccinated coworkers, friends and family members who've contracted breakthrough COVID-19 infections.

He's not anti-vax, he just happens to repeat anti-vax propaganda.

Plague rats shouldn't be permitted employment anyway. If your workers won't get vaxed, they don't deserve things like housing, a weekly paycheck, health care, human fellowship, etc.

You know, once again, it's worth reminding people that literally all we had to do was to pay people to stay at home and not work for six weeks, and we could've been done with this. But apparently that was too 'socialism' for some people.

It would've been more than six weeks but you got the gist of it.

Can't give people scraps from the table, they might think about asking for more.

> Chevalier is among a small but significant number of American workers deciding whether to quit their jobs and careers in defiance of what they consider intrusive edicts that affect their freedoms.

I wish news stories would better quantify and emphasize how small this opposition is. Say 2% threatened to quit if there were mandates and when they came about .4% actually quit.

Jesus H. Christ these people are stupid.

Take you chances with a novel Corona virus that can fark you up forever, or take a g*damned vaccine developed by soon to be Nobel Prize winners?

How is this even a decision point?

Seriously, how farking dumb can people be? Is everything some sort of sinister plot? Or are they just afraid of getting the magnetisms?

Every time I read an article or talk to someone in person that holds these views, it's literally orgasmic for me. Witnessing droves of morons lose everything they've worked so hard for because they didn't have the sense to not get conned is pure manna.

mrshowrules: I hate being on the side of the plant owners.  Really against my nature and I feel icky.

Some people are just simply stupid.  This includes union folk as well as their bosses.

A sensible union would be pushing for vaccination drives and better health coverage + (employer paid and scheduled) testing protocols for members who medically can't get the vaccine or who even if they get it it won't be quite as good (cancer and transplant patients, etc etc).

It's a straight-up workplace safety issue, which really ought to be at the bedrock of any union action.  Unions were formed to keep workers from dying for the owner's bottom line.

Josh "Chevy" Chevalier is a third-generation shipbuilder who hasn't missed a day of work during the pandemic in his job as a welder constructing Navy warships on the Maine coast.
But he's ready to walk away from his job because of an impending mandate from President Joe Biden that federal contractors and all U.S. businesses with 100 or more workersbe fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
"People are fighting for their constitutional rights - the way they think their life should be," said Chevalier, one of hundreds of employees at Bath Iron Works threatening to leave.

/ Pretty sad that your government contracted job will be comprimised because, he ain't mainly or patriotic enough to have a little prick in his arm.

There are retail and food service workers who would love to do something different for 5x the money if it means getting a free vaccine at CVS.
