subby here. have to apologize - when they first announced this event a few years ago, they had planned to have all of the cars on track racing each other in a 20 lap event and I submitted it thinking that was the plan. as I read more about it, guess they scaled it back to each team will run basically a Indy 500-style four lap qualifying session with some obstacles to determine the winner.

still will be pretty neat to see how these teams do. and on the plus side - we'll still get more racing than what F1 could do in Belgium this summer

If they did them all at once it would end lap one with a massive full party wreck. Would have been fun to watch, but single car laps sounds wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy boring

I wonder how much variation there will be in the paths the cars take around the course. Less than 1%?

Not to be annoying, but when do they start?

Rather than Indy, they should have gone stock and risked it.

The real trick is to come in a day late and read a summary or watch clips of the highlights.

why? besides the fact that it's literally a university STEM competition...

I first read that as "21 universes". Now THAT'S a competition!

thought it was an interesting competition. shame that the final team on the course could have won it but a programming error caused their car to slow down.

Why are they showing the whole thing in slow motion? Oh, I see. Maybe I'll watch in a few years.
