the new platform promises to offer the former Republican president and his supporters a safe space for conservative viewpoints

The pigs in the pigpen saw the humans through the window inside sitting at a dining table but the humans won't let them bring their slop to the table, so they decided to build their own table in the sty.

They think it will be the same, but they'll have it covered in pig shiat in minutes and knock it down before noon.

I see two scenarios with this platform.

1)  Without having liberals to spar with they will stick with mainstream social media because it's no fun screaming in an echo chamber.

2)  Those that remain will devolve into fighting amongst themselves over who is trumpier.

This is always how it goes, it's why their "safe spaces" always fail unless they go full Nazi where openly racist "jokes" get told. Places that are already, or have already moved from "joking" to "planning"

What's more interesting is that investing in the platform is investing in Donald Trump. Anyone who puts money into it is participating in Trump's coup, which has always been based on social media platforms. Any money put into the company is financial and material capital for the coup.

At least, since the company is based in China, we know what the long term plans were for the Trump family's various Chinese copyrights and trademarks they amassed. They are there to control American government with corporate offices in Asia, out of the reach of American citizens and police.

I really want Trump to face the consequences of everything he has done, but at this point I think I'd be perfectly fine with him stroking out and shiatting himself in the middle of a rally.

With every advantage he has had handed to him in life with a near mystical ability to avoid consequences while continuing to fail upward, I feel some comfort in knowing that with all Trump has had, he has been miserable the entire time.

Except that now, American grade schools are teaching that the Holocaust didn't happen, or wasn't based on prejudice, or whatever Texa is doing? Now that American schools doing that, their students will need to search for Nazi apologist literature online in order to write their assignments. What websites do you think they will go to?

The Neo-Nazi websites and social media are the mainstream now. Their opinions are not widely shared in books. They don't have documentaries on PBS or editors at big publishing houses. Those school students will need to use their websites. School teachers will be grading the students' incluion of those websites.

Whatever happened to freerepublic.com?   That is as trumpy as any trumper could wish for.   We used to link to it here to get a fix on "conservative" thought but I haven't seen that in years.

Then there was conservapedia.com.   That was done by Phyllis Schaffly's son.   Who the f*** cares?

Pretty much the only way he has to make money anymore. This is a guy who holds the world record for most money LOST by an individual. Real estate development, licensing his name as a sort of mascot for opulence, the entertainment industry, this guy borrowed mountains of money from increasingly shady sources, to the point where no reputable bank would give him loans, no contractor would provide for him, and no reputable attorney would work with him.

So if you're a foreign power who wants to weaken the US, and Trump is desperate enough to project an image of opulence and wealth, you give him money to weaken the US. And Trump takes it, because the US isn't as important as his being rich.

It's 1804. You're a Royalist, a real Rexie George, and no one wants to run your screeds in their fashionable democratic republic aligned broadsheets. So, you get a guy to print you some handbills, thus starting your own newsletter so no one can stop you from printing what you want. Except maybe that guy decides your newsletter is bullshiat, forcing you to either go out of print of to print it yourself.

It's about messaging and control. The draw is that the Trumped up version of Twitter (Trumpet? Trumpetter?) is him. He doesn't want the other grifters making money from his image, and since that really is his only marketable asset, he has to control it. He has to start printing.

It sounds like it's going to be heavily moderated to preserve the purity of MAGAt view points and the unfailability of the leader. So yeah, it's going to be a safe space nazi echo chamber. It will take off for a bit until the big names realize there are no "libs" to "own" and leave. The low level derpers will stick around a little longer to discuss their violent fantasies until the first big FBI bust/doxx. After that it'll be like a star that has burned all the way through O2 and will just exist as a burned up hulk of crypto scammers and dead bots. I give it two years tops before the end stage.

/still a non-zero chance it turns into a hub of kiddy porn and ISIS like gettr quickly did.

The bigger picture is that TFG, despite being a former POTUS, and despite all of his claims to being a bigly business genius, can't get a single bank or investment firm in the entire world to partner with him on an IPO. So he tried a half-assed SPAC, which began hemorrhaging investors as soon as they found out his stink of failure and debt was anywhere near their money. Meaning, *actually* wealthy people don't want to be in a deal with him even if they are three or four times removed. Other than donating to PACs or lobbying, nobody with real money wants to be in the same hemisphere with TFG or his creepy family.
