That's nice and all, and I'm happy for them... but when the fark is Paxton going to be thrown out of office for farking bribery?  He's only the chief law enforcement person in Texas, after all.  Would be nice if he weren't a crook.

Being a corrupt criminal is a requirement to be a republican and that is why Paxton is still TX AG. The republican party is a criminal terrorist organization.

I'm sure those suits will conclude within two or three decades after his natural death, at most.

Paxton, Abbott, and Patrick are hard to beat as a triumvirate of evil.
I wonder which one will go down first. I'm betting Paxton who's been under investigation by the feds since the Stamp Act.

He needs federal charges against him. As long as it's state charges, Gov Spokes is going to protect him. He won't be able to do that if its in the federal court system.

I guess he's the Republican Hilary Clinton.

Jail him! Jail him! Jail him! Unless he turns State Evidence against everybody in the Trump White House and the Republican Senate Caucus.

No, he isn't the Republican Hillary Clinton.

He did what he has been accused of.

Definitely Paxton first. He's essentially using the Bibi playbook and he doesn't have immunity from the feds. Honestly, I'd probably go with Abbott second. Neither Abbott or Patrick are in particular risk politically, but I'd expect Abbott would be more likely to get hit with public corruption charges.

On one hand, as he is the highest law enforcement officer in Texas, no court in that state should have jurisdiction over him as it would be a conflict of interest, so federal court it is.

On the other hand, the charges made by the whistleblowers are all state-based.

It's not completely true, but yeah.  Texas does not give absolute pardon authority to its governor, instead having it in the Texas Board of Pardons and Parole.

Still tons of ways for the idiot in charge to obstruct prosecution of his lackey, though.

Abbott is licking the tip of his Executive Order Crayon as we speak, preparing to take it in fist and decree "Only Demmycrat officials can break laws."

I've mentioned before that as a Texas lawyer who still believes in the honor of the profession I hate Ken Paxton more than any politician in this state, so anything that makes that motherfarker's life more difficult is A-OK with me.
