Sox fan and I'm not optimistic to say the least.  I really didn't expect them to get this far in the first place. I'm at peace with it. My guess is Houston closes it out tonight.

Would have liked to seen how they would have done with a fully rehabbed Sale.

All of this. I threw $25 on them to win the series this morning. at +1000, what the hell. It's been a deeper push than anyone expected. They really earned everything they've done this year. There were no gimmies.

I guess we'll find out shortly which team cheats the best, difficulty rating:  Alex Cora on both sides of the ledger.

I like Eovaldi's chances at keeping the runs down.  The bats need to wake back up.

I have to be up at 4:30am tomorrow for a physically demanding day, so there's no way I can watch the game tonight. However, if they do win, I will be drinking a lot of beer while watching a game 7 at the end of the day... so I (maybe) got that going for me... which is nice.

Regardless: I don't think they win the ALCS. And if they do, I bet they would get swept in the World Series.

Don't count your wins before they happen.

this has been such a strange postseason. title may be won by the team with the last pitcher whose arm is still attached.

Astros World Series tickets are on sale, too

No need to click the link, it's just a thing.

Things I learned today, people think that tickets to a major event go on sale the morning of or the day before.

Football teams out playoff tickets on sale some time around week 14 (well, not the lions or browns).

All four *LCS teams have put WS tickets on sale because there could be as little as one day between winning the pennant and the first game of the World Series. This is normal.

It provides dark humor when your team is falling apart and announces postseason tickets.

Was subby trying to be witty?

Payment for tickets for non-played games will be automatically credited back to the account holder of record. Tickets do not have to be returned for reimbursement. Handling charges will not be refunded. These tickets will not be redeemable at the Red Sox Ticket Office. Other than tickets for non-played games, all ticket sales are final and tickets may not be returned, exchanged, or refunded.

Yanno, as much as I bag on this year's Braves and their NL Least winning 88-73 record, I don't think anything will ever beat the 83-78 2006 Cards winning the WS.

My brother in law works for an ink company, and he occasionally gets printed but unused items from vendors, like an uncut sheet of aluminum beer cans which had a slight registration error. That one got donated to our regular bar at the time, who screwed it onto the wall of the men's room.
Anyway, somewhere he's got a sheet of uncut Cubs 2003 World Series tickets. As a Sox fan, he always thought it was pretty funny.

In the same boat.

Would've loved to see a Sox-Sox ALCS or Sox-Braves WS, but I don't think either of those are happening.

/good luck Braves, hopefully you don't collapse to the Dodgers like we seem to have done to the Astros.

I'm not a fan of Braves or Dodgers, but I'll be rooting for either of them over Red Sox/Astros.

Yeah, being down 3 games to 2 ,and 19-8 in  the 9th inning  of game 4 and having to go to the opponents park for games 6 and 7 and coming back to win it all, that could never happen.

I was at that game. A friend got two "standing room only" tickets. I stayed until the very end. Midway through the game seats started opening up as people left. By the 7th inning I was 5 rows in back of the Yankee dugout. By that time swarms of visiting Yankee fans had also poured down to that area to grab seats. It was all good, people just having fun and cheering. Only one guy was being really obnoxious. He was mansplaining the Sox-Yankee rivalry to his girlfriend and at one point saying something like "This happens every year! The Sox will never win!" She asked something like "yeah, but they still could, right?" He laughed and said no, they simply weren't allowed to, it's like, a rule. She said it again, half asking if there was still a chance though. He turned to me and said, "Isn't she precious? Don't ever take a girl to a game."

I did not believe they were going to come back and win the ALCS, that's for sure. But I would have loved to have a picture-in-picture feed of that guy's face while watching game 7.

All I know is there was a time, not that long ago, when Boston was down 0-3 to the Yankees. They then won eight straight games, winning the pennant and the championship.

It isn't over until it's over.

Having said that, the fat lady is warming up, but you gotta play the games.

This reminds me of when I stood in line for mariners playoff/WS? tickets in the kingdome parking lot. 95'ish or so? All I know is I ordered the tix but the M's lost whatever the fark it was that would have allowed them to proceed so I could use ( probably scalp) those tickets. We were there for hours and had pizza delivered to the parking lot. Sort of fun. But I'm weird in that to this day I prefer the kingdome to what replaced it. Given the choice I'm always taking the older building - I like a bit of grit and some history whether it's a stadium, bar, or restaurant.

MLB needs to just go back to alternating years for World Series home field advantage. That system should be easy to improve but they have farked up every attempt to do so for decades. After being the road team against every team that was in their own league and played a comparable schedule, the Dodgers would be the home team based on record against a team that played an almost entirely different set of opponents. The Braves, however, after hosting the 106 win Dodgers would become the road team. What a joke.
