Seriously, how can you blame her for a faulty test?

Peons like a nurse should know better than to embarrass "The Talent".

Having already thought of the View and everyone involved as garbage, I'm not shocked by this news.

I didn't realize that recent SNL bit from Oct 2 was a parody of this as I normally ignore all things "The View" related.

Slightly OT, but the only thing that very old SNL has over more recent SNL is SNL pre-1990 or so wasn't very topical*. You could watch most of those episodes now, and even if you don't laugh it's not because you don't remember whatever now obscure thing they're referencing.

*With the obvious exception of Weekend Update

I always wondered where the male versions of these shows were, you know? For Today's Stay-At-Home Man Who Can't Watch EPSN.
We had "The Chew," I suppose, but where were "The Belch?" "The Nap?" "The Three-O'Clock Deuce?"

ESPN are those shows for men.  They covered it great in "Glow", when the one girl had that a-ha moment, and realized that Wrestling was just a soap opera for guys.

Fashion, celebrity gossip and all that BS on the generic day time talk show
vs
Can you believe these new helmets?  they're hideous! and So and so might have a sprained calf, who can replace him!  What about that coaching move! on generic sports show.

Never point a real gun at someone you don't intend to kill.  Even blanks kill at close range.

Baldwin's an idiot for aiming that gun, but there's also at least a couple of people responsible for safety on set who need to be hanged.  Care with working prop guns has been a known issue for half a century at least.

Good point.

If the Today show gets to just throw two women drinking wine from 10-11am, we men need equality.

It would probably just be girls jumping on trampolines with beer and announcers, followed by 2 hours of golf so we can take a nice nap.

/I don't like golf.
//But it makes for great white noise.

Maybe they're teaching the next nurse to do the test before the show.

That wasn't necessarily the farkup. It was how they handled it. There should have been no pending tests while they were live. There should have been no reason to announce a test result live. There should have been protocols in place to retest and confirm positive results.

I remember when visiting my mom a number of years ago, she was watching The View, and afterward there was a dude version called "The Other Side". I think Montel Williams was one of the hosts. I'd call it forgettable if not for the fact that I just remembered it.

That's literally what The Man Show was, minus the golf. And I don't think it's all that fondly remembered. If it was, it would have been rebooted at least fifteen times by now.

Do we know he aimed it?  Or did he just fire it like every other actor does?  If he pointed it at a director and photographer and fired that's a problem and could be a charge

Since someone was shot and killed, the weapon was aimed.

But that could be required for the shot and done safely if the right blank ammunition was used and the distance was appropriate.

This gun fired a projectile that managed to kill one person and wound another severely.  That sounds like live ammunition, *NOT* blanks.

Either that, or there was something very solid that was bore-sized lodged in the barrel.

Either way, the prop master who was responsible for the gun farked up inexcusably

As much as I'd like to blame anti-gun asshole Alec Baldwin as that would be some delicious irony, at this point I can't see that did anything wrong.  That could change as new facts emerge, however.

He violated the number one rule of gun safety. Even if you're convinced it's unloaded, you never point a gun at another person. Never.

But I doubt he gets charged with anything. Remember when Tom Cruise allegedly cut safety standards on a production and two pilots died during a risky flying stunt? The media doesn't. They forgot about that story after only a couple weeks.
