Unsung_Hero: gshepnyc: I would rather let everyone in town see my balls than take one step onto a glass-floored observation deck.  Thanks.

I've been to the glass floor of the CN Tower in Toronto (don't bother anymore, it's so jammed with tourists it's a 5 minute experience that takes several hours of shuffling slowly in a long line... At least pre-COVID.)

Glass cracks.  It's a long way down.  Damn right I didn't step on it even though the odds are almost zero anything would happen.  People used to think I was odd walking around subway sidewalk vents, but then one day a half dozen Torontonians made the news for falling through one.

The Chinese have a glass walkway that's 3800 feet up. If you weren't already nervous about trusting Chinese construction, they decided to up the ante by putting in fake panels that make it look like the glass is breaking:

I was thinking a few exhibitionists would like it.

Same with the Empire State Building in NYC. Takes forever and a day to get up to the 86th observatory deck in sardine like elevators...and then you get there and you have to fight your way to look over the edge...

anyway, last time I was there, 2001, I saw Carrot-top and a crowd was forming all around him so I went the other way to avoid that mess.

Apparently the ESB has a separate, higher floor that is only available to celebrities/VIPs so they can avoid the plebs. Surprised they don't have a separate entrance, too.

Was it the 102nd floor?  It's been a while since I've been there.

I bet Carrot-top wasn't VIP enough to get up to the 102nd floor.

I think so? I'm not sure, I just saw it on a youtube video about hidden areas of famous buildings.  The whole video was kind of a letdown, tbh.

I once knew some rich-and-powerful people... And got a few of those special VIP only tours.

It's a totally different experience, and it really makes you feel superior to the commoners when they're playing at being sardines while you're very comfortable.

The 80th, 86th, and 102nd floors contain observatories.[304][282][250] The latter two observatories saw a combined average of four million visitors per year in 2010.[105][305][306] Since opening, the observatories have been more popular than similar observatories at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the Chrysler Building, the first One World Trade Center, or the Woolworth Building, despite being more expensive.[305] There are variable charges to enter the observatories; one ticket allows visitors to go as high as the 86th floor, and there is an additional charge to visit the 102nd floor. Other ticket options for visitors include scheduled access to view the sunrise from the observatory, a "premium" guided tour with VIP access, and the "AM/PM" package which allows for two visits in the same day.[307]

A good friend of mine worked in an office at the ESB.  Personally?  I've always wanted to work inside 30 Rock.

RogermcAllen: ElPrimitivo: There's a hotel with a really cool museum in Louisville called 21c.

"The bathrooms are quite nice, the urinal for the guys room is a 2-way mirror wherein you can see the people outside of the bathroom walk by but they cannot see you (quite freaky at first) and also serves as a cascading waterfall that flows to the floor."

I think the lower frosted glass is new. I know that my then girlfriend told me that she was absolutely able to see me pee when she pressed up close to the glass from outside (after I verified there was nobody else in there)

So you peed on her face when she did that, right?

At her face anyway.

There was a glass wall in the way.

CSB

9th grade math class.

Our teacher, Mrs Smith was the schools head of math, and she ran a math class for the troubled kids who were outcasts and bad at math. I was bad at math so I had to take this course...anyway...

Mrs Smith handed out homework and the following day would go to everyone's desk to see if they did it. One day, the kid ahead of me sticks his foot out under Mrs Smith's dress. He had a mirror in-between his laces.  He slides his foot out slowly, and takes a look...

Mrs Smith notices this and instantly yells at him..picks him up from his ear and they haul out to the hallway. Everyone could hear her screaming at him.

Bottom line?  he told her to go to the office and we ever ever ever saw him ever again.

the end.

Visited there in 1955 with Dad... no suicide bars, and I could actually look over and down..  discussed how long it would take a penny to hit the sidewalk if dropped..  binoculars were a nickel to use... Dad,s answer to the penny drop was no, when no meant something...( from either parent)

And now I may leave satisfied.

Given the source picture in this thread I would also have accepted the picture of the badly shooped pick of Emma Watson's head on a nude model with the Rock's head in front of it, too.
