Everyone poo-pooed the idea that a young idealist could run a country well. Stand back old people and let Angela Merkel 2: NZ Boogaloo get in front!

You may move forward when "it" says green light. Stop when "it" says red light. Those still moving after red light will be eliminated.

Dammit. I was gonna say something about people in the red light district not being able to move.  It would have been very witty and funny.  But you stole my bit. I hope you are happy with yourself.

As an Australian, I'll pay that, but only because I still feel shame from the Chappell brothers.

And if you eventually lose your marbles over this, then you will also be eliminated.

Is it a new Zealand to use the term fortnight seriously?

Enjoy your left-wing nanny state paradise, you've earned it.

If I'm vaccinated, I should be punished because of morons.

Why do people think collective punishment of vaccinated people (mostly liberals, according to Fark) because some percent of morons (mostly conservative white men) can't be arsed to get vaccinated?

Then again, Jacinda was integral to getting the votes for her side so maybe it wasn't "everyone" after all.
The measure that's important is the part where you get elected. (and/or get your party elected)

Yes, we use the term "fortnight". No, it's nothing to do with the game. It's just a wee bit of vocabulary that stuck with us which I assume the British brought over.

What the country needed. Idealist as a politician in my eyes. How would you handle Greece?

Haha. If your name is not Hitchcock, it's cricket. And yes, that is an Aussie's national shame.

When I say "everyone" I obviously mean "the majority of votes". And she has a country's people happy to put themselves in pain for long-term (COVID) gain. Without war, that's hard to do and a testament to her.

You're obviously not stuck in Aucklands 12 week (and counting) lockdown right now.  The Arderp government has miss managed Covid since the end of the first lockdown in March 2020.  They have actively discouraged medical staff from immigrating to NZ, tried to deny nurses a pay rise and actively under funded our health system.  Auckland has 116 ventilators in Auckland for a population of 1.5 million.

The vaccine roll out was a joke of poor planning and complacency and the new traffic light system is a wishy washy document with no hard line on vaccine compliance and no definitive dates on opening, no metrics or KPIs.  I have my vaccine cert, it is sent as a PDF document and thus easily forged and there is no clear indication when a digital passport with photo ID will be in place.

Maybe you'd like to inquire as to our housing crisis?  Their promise at the first election was to build 10000 houses per year, they've delivered 1058 houses in five years, they now pay private hotels to take the homeless.
House prices keep rising (over 20% pa) as does house building costs and compliance costs.

Gang membership has tripled in the time Labour has been in government along with its attendant gun crime, violence and drug crime.

Jacinda Ardern is the minister for child poverty and we still have one of the worst rates of child poverty in the world.

Doing business and making any headway for yourself is getting harder and harder in this country.  Don't kid yourself that Arderp has been transparent or transformational (her words), she's beyond a joke and a lot of Kiwis have had enough of her.

An idealist wouldn't have forced crippling austerity on them.

I would have kicked them out of the Euro because the Euro is a ball and chain on low productivity countries and they should have been allowed to devalue their currency, as is tradition.

I think you'll find the alternative is more of a joke.
