I'm just a yank,

But I always thought the queen/monarchy missed a moment to make themselves relevant again. With Brexit out there, from initial vote to years of failed negotiations, they could have spoken up and said 'this will make our country weaker and is being pushed by foreign enemies who want to see Great Britain weak'. Their position is largely ceremonial, but Brexit was about the ceremonial statement "we aren't part of Europe."

Instead, they kept their head down and mouth shut.

If a Queen can't advocate for the sovereignty or non-sovereignty of her country, what is the point of her?
