All you need to know about the validity of the plague-rat movement is the quality of the people in it.

I have an account that I visit once a month or so, and the guy who works in shipping and receiving is this really cool black guy I've known for years. We usually bullshiat for 15-20mins about sports and stuff when I visit. He still wears a mask and hasn't gotten the shot.

I asked him last week when I saw him, "bro, you're still not vaccinated"?

He said, "hell no. My grandpa told me 'the white devil made that shiat'."

He's never said anything remotely racial at all since I've known him. He said it as if he was reluctant to, but it gave me some insight into what some black folk mistrust about the vaccine.

/all three of the people mentioned in the articles are asshats regardless

If that guy is ever going to any retail store for stuff to put into his body (food, drink, medicine), he's consuming something the white devil made.

That just maybe doesn't let him off the hook on this one.

Though I guess it isn't impossible hundreds of millions of whites are getting vaccinated to trick and damn a few million blacks

Uhhhh,,, Tuskegee experiment?

Black people with limited medical knowledge being targeted and misled with lies, then discouraged from seeking medical care? Yea, that sounds familiar.

The Tuskegee syphilis experiment sowed a ton of distrust that's true. I don't know what it's like to get medical care in the US as a black person, as I am not black, but i know its often not like my experience. So someone realized they are an easy target for anti-vaxxer bullshiat, just like conservatives.

The thing with the TIs and Chris Browns is that they don't base their anti-vax BS on Tuskegee, it's about some Alex Jones type conspiracy shiat or that God/Jesus is their vaccine.

I'm a Black male in my late 30s, and I distrust the government for valid historical reasons. I also had covid last year which put me in the hospital for three days and I have no intention of catching it again, so I got vaccinated ASAP. Also, seeing that I work for the federal government, I don't have a choice in the matter, but even if I did, I still would've gotten the shot.

That distrust is entirely valid.  But the excuse of it is being used to transparenly manipulate people.  Do the people who believe this think every nurse administering the vaccine in every local pharmacy is swapping out doses between black and white people?

By the way, the Tuskegee Experiment?  Started under Herbert Hoover.  A Republican President. To be fair, it continued for decades under both parties, and it's unclear if anyone higher up than Surgeon-Generals and HHS Secretaries ever knew about it.  The conspiracy nuts probably want to play up that the CDC is one of the organizations which did know.  But next year it will be fifty years since it was terminated, and ninety since it was started.  I'm pretty sure none of the same Doctors are at CDC.
