Could I still hesitantly make a remark about Amazon women?

You should see the stupid ads they're running up here. Big gym rat type going on about how Amazon is the best job ever, shots of the guy at a lakeside property, all the free time in the world. Just visual suggestions of what his life may be like of course. He's always surrounded by family and friends so it's never clear where he lives of course. The best propaganda billions can buy. You know every single shot of that ad went through multiple committees and was workshopped to death

Wrong!

/it was workshopped to death, resurrected, killed again, dissected, burned, raised from it's component ashes and then workshopped back into a Lovecraftian button pusher of a manipulation piece

"From the onset, I learned that if I worked too slow or had too much time-off-task I could be disciplined or even fired."

Shocking!!! You can be fired for working badly or not at all ZOMG!!!

/ I work in an Amazon fulfillment center (FC) AKA warehouse
// Isn't the perfect job, but it is working well for me
/// I like the 10 hour shifts, I get 3-day weekends

Those ads are running everywhere. You know a place is a terrible place to work if they're running ads saying the opposite. Literally the only other place I can name that's ever done that is Walmart.

/Same goes for ads telling you to call your elected officials regarding something you would normally have no feelings on.

I don't trust fat people complaining about stairs. I work in the trades and it's always the fat one that complains or can't keep up.

"The stairs hurt" I'm sorry. Were you taking 5 stories of stairs with 100 pounds of tools or material?

Hell I loved warehouse work the brief time I did it. It was like being paid to lift weights all day.

shiat pay, but its pretty mindless picking or packing orders. And I was doing boxes of text books.

If Amazon is like any warehouse I worked in or did work on, you ain't carrying a lot of product up and down stairs. It's inefficient.

How do you feel about ads for the army?

They make it look pretty awesome.

I'm prepared to believe everything she says about the way workers are treated, based on one comment by management:

"We don't believe unions are in the best interests of our workers."

They're not YOUR workers, and what YOU may believe is not relevant here. Unionizing may indeed be to their detriment; but nobody died and made you their mommy.

Butt. Out.

And if it isn't? You may be talking out your ass about something you don't know anything about.

Pretty unlikely that unionizing would be to their detriment. And I'm sure that's the real reason why Amazon opposes it.
