I'm morbidly curious what this woman did to lose custodial rights to her baby.  As far as I understand, often times will err on the side of the parents, particularly the mother, even when removal probably would be better for the child.

Living in Palmdale is punishment enough.

JiMHaT: Damn. I grew up in Palmdale. It was a lot different 30 years ago. I'm not contributing anything funny...I just decided to chime in as the "I KNOW THAT PLACE" guy. The fast food joint originally known as Naugles had a new name like every 3 months. There was only 20K people or so, and it was still considered a drive through town. I left when it was just starting to get...different.

This isn't even a "cool story bro". This is a "no story bro".

Naugles was bought by Del Taco in 1988 and all had been converted or shut down by 1995.  The first Naugles was in my city of Riverside (all are now Del Tacos).  This has resulted in Riverside having a shiat ton of Del Tacos, as frequently there was a Del Taco near a Naugles and few in Riverside ended up closing after the merger.

In 2015, there was a ruling that the trademark was abandoned by Del Taco, and a new company, replicating the old menu but with no legal connection to Del Taco, has opened three locations in Orange County.

I'm thinking drugs.

But I want to know who the male was?  If he surrendered, then he can't be the baby-daddy.

Did the mom take her boyfriend to do the kidnapping and then when it went belly up, the guy surrendered?

The story was lacking so many adjectives.

Could also be that woman returned to the apartment she and boyfriend shared with the kid in-tow, the cops showed up not long thereafter and he noped the hell out of that.

Welcome to Palmdale.
Out of jail, and into a semi desert suburb where a lot of law enforcement also live.
Like the hunger games of Fox News.

The child is believed to be the woman's, though she has no custodial rights and the situation has been deemed a kidnapping, according to sheriff's officials. The female suspect also livestreamed a portion of the situation on Instagram.

Wonder how that happened, she sounds like such a responsible parent.

I was so confused. Given the current litigious state over rights, ownership, and copywrite I initially thought this headline was a custody dispute over some livestream video. Started reading the article like, what's all this about a child?

I thought it was Fark tradition to not read the articles.
