syrynxx: Fewer cripples, more incest

If it's based on the Fire and Blood book, there's a LOT of sibling farking, and plenty of dragon based maiming.

He's only written the first one though, so odds on them running out of material soon. Would like to see an adaptation for the Dunk and Egg novels.

Honestly the only thing he should keep is the guy that does the music and something similar to the intro sequence itself.

The previous guys pretty much squandered any goodwill the show had, so different is better here, I think.

I'm envisioning a slapstick action comedy between where a crack Veil knight unit was sent to the wall
by a royal court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped the Night's Watch to the Westeros underground. Today, still wanted by the kings guard they survive as soldiers of fortune.  If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them... maybe you can hire The Arryn-Team.

You joke, but remaking the A-Team in a fantasy setting could be kinda fun.  I think I wouldn't go all the way to slapstick, though.

Forreal, they don't make soundtracks like this anymore.

GoT is a fictionalization of the war of the roses, so that minus a couple centuries would be either the norman conquest or the immediate aftermath, right?

Seems like a much more action oriented and dynamic storyline than the original, if nothing else. Especially since what happened to the guys maintaining their political power through intricate games of marriage and shifting alliances was that the normans were like "lol, nope" and burned them to the farking ground to the point the families involved ceased to exist. Then the basically burned the church to a hollow shell and replaced it with their guys just to be sure even the commoners didn't remember who used to be in charge.

... kind of an active counter argument to the claim that Martin's realpolitik fantasy is "realistic", honestly, the whole time period.

A different tone? Everyone starts dead and comes back to life?

I joke of course, having read all of the prequel stories.

+1 vote for ditching the story line and doing Dunc and Egg instead.
