There is an easy fix.
Repeal all of the Trump tax cuts and Trump tax increases on the working class Biden will not even talk about.

"But you broke it?"
"And what are you going to do to fix it?"

That's not an easy fix though, it's an impossible one.  The owner class will not allow it to happen.

I think it's worth accepting that America is on its steep decline due to an accumulation of wealth that is "too big to fail."

The bright side? They still let us have bourbon.

For now.

This SALT thing is hilarious... tax the rich... except of course for the rich that live in high tax states. 🙄

The 10k doesn't impact the mega rich, but it does hurt upper middle class people. That's why the Republicans put it in; the people most likely to be screwed by it are the latte-sipping, liberal elite who live in blue states.

Should be capped at 30 or 40k if you want to soak the rich and not screw over people who are "hundred thousandaires".

Are there no currently sitting republican politicians who could cosponsor a bill to attempt to repeal what they're batching about?

Of course not. Whine, complain as loudly as possible, point fingers, swear to the public they are all on board to help middle to poor income classes, then vote a resounding NO when their own cosponsored bills come up for a vote.

I don't understand how republicans are missing completely that a helluva lot more people are paying closer attention to American politics than ever before, and that their continuation of being the party of NO and crazy Qidiots are not winning back independents, suburban women and the new youngins who have become not only eligible voters, but very proactive, organized eligible voters.

They truly believe antimask, antivaccine, continued misogyny, and kill the children with covid19 are winning strategies for 2022 & 2024.

Obviously there is also the plain fact that they have decided they no longer need voters of any kind, as republican state legislatures pass laws making it "legal" to steal any elections they wish.

Sadly that makes my initial comments of "the way it used to be" (gaining voter support) in the first 4 paragraphs, moot.
For that I weep for our country. ☹

And the GQP's two santa scam, with the end goal being the destruction of the government as we know it, rolls on.

God damn Art Laffer and the most destructive napkin sketch in history to hell.

Repeal back to Clinton.  Put 10 year limits on trust funds which must be drawn down to $0, or the remainder is taxed at 90%.  Also eliminate capital gains and make all income subject to the tax brackets, marginal 70% at $1 million/year.
Not going to happen.

That's basically the platform they ran on last year, and it earned them 71 million votes. I wouldn't rule them out.

The SALT deduction, like the mortgage interest deduction, is completely indefensible.

Bullshiat. A single tax on all people across the land without taking into account relative cost of living is what is indefensible. A person earning $150k a year in Manhattan is scraping by. A person making $150k in Mobile is a 1%er.
