You can only eat one Cadbury egg before going into a diabetic coma.  You can eat an entire bag of Reese's Peanut Butter cups.

Been there, done that. Still can't handle Cadbury, but I will commit homicide for a Reese's.

I actually prefer Easter for the hard-boiled eggs. Yes, my cholesterol is outrageous.

Kielbasa and hard boiled egg sandwich with plenty of horseradish and spicy mustard.

After getting to the author claiming that reese's cups in a different shape don't have their own distinct flavor I know I don't need to take anything else they say seriously.  If you cannot recognize how changing the shape and ratio of ingredients changes the overall experience of a piece of food you should find a different job mr/mrs food blogger wrong guy.

His whole case is based on lies, namely that there are no special treats that come out for Halloween (there farking are), and that god damned jelly beans and Peeps are superior, special candies (they farking aren't). But it's a rage click article, so kudos for getting the rage, I guess.

You must Trick or Treat in a different neighborhood than my kids.

I mean, the candy is virtually identical, it's just packaged differently. (shrug)

I really wouldn't give the edge to either one. Halloween candy seems to have more variety, but Easter candy has been catching up there, offering stuff that didn't used to be "Easter" candy, like gummies and shiat like that.

I haven't seen too many Halloween jelly beans, except for the Jelly Bellies, which are packaged in special "Halloween" themed containers.

It's all pretty much the same with variations in size, shape, "fun size" vs. full size, etc. No need to argue over this. All the candy holidays are awesome.

I mean Easter is primarily a chocolate based candy holiday, IMO. Whereas Halloween has a wide berth of candies doled out.

Also, you don't go door-to-door begging for candy on Easter, unless you're weird, so the opportunity to score more candy on Halloween trumps Easter.

I still recall the year we found bags of Watchamacallits on clearance after Halloween. Haven't seen a bag of them in fun size since. Same thing happened a few years later when Take 5 was a new product. We bought too many on clearance. I think I packed 1 in my lunch through Ground Hogs Day before we ran out. Couldn't resist peanuts, peanut butter, caramel, pretzels and chocolate.

kp1230: Think about all the candies that are 100% associated with Easter, and virtually no other time of year: Cadbury Creme Eggs. Jordan almonds. Peeps. Robin eggs. Cadbury Mini Eggs.

I already have two bags of the Harvest Mix squirreled away for T-giving.

There are Halloween Cadbury eggs (and apparently mini eggs). Peeps have already been shown to be in Halloween form.

So it down to Robin Eggs, which are just colorful Whoppers (aka last pick on the playground candy) and Jordan almonds, which are barely even candy. These are candies that don't exist at other times because no one wants them.
