You can still drive away with the dim lights on.

If by "we" you mean Farkers, no. We're all too old.

Other younger, more attractive people, sure.

Does anyone over the age of 25 even go to nightclubs?

/ concerts don't count

Eventually. Smaller bars are going like gangbusters without the huge throngs though, and folks want to get together and celebrate. The restaurant is doing better numbers than we've done since we opened. The meat markets will be back, but not until we get the knuckleheads immunized, or at least marginalized. Eventually, the power of paducky will win out, as it always does.

Will anybody be able to afford the nightlife post covid?

Wait a minute.  Are you telling me that young people will find a way to congregate in in what may or may not actually qualify as clothing, grind their sweaty bodies together while consuming alcohol, and then leave in pairs to fornicate?

No way, I don't believe it.

Some of us never enjoyed the nightlife in the before times.

I'd rather get up early and go fishing or on a long walk than spend my evening in a noisy, crowded club.

Unfortunately, we are entering the deep freeze season and I'll just be stuck in house for months on end.

Nope.  Nightlife is over forever and ever.  No longer will young people go out, stay up late, drink, and hook up.  Covid changed everything.

The nightlife was a crock of shiat for people to cover up the fact that they had no real friends and needed the approval of others to feel complete. If you cant apend quiet nights at home or playing card games with friends over you should probably have a few talks with a therapist to figure out why instead of continuing a wasteful and destructive habit

One time I heard that different people like different things. Some people even like more than one thing, so they do them at different times.

Obtaining the approval of others quite often leads to having sex with those others.  It was worth it.

The first problem is trying to live with COVID, when it should have been outright eradicated.

Relying on vaccinations as your first and only line of defense is moronic; rawdogging your lungs sans mask is genuinely asking for trouble, particularly with a variant that has a viral load 1000 times greater than OG Covid.

TL/DR: As long as COVID is out and about, no. You won't have much of a life.

Having half the people not take this seriously may have been less effective than doing nothing at all.

AIDS was and still is a thing but people kept having sex because they have to.  COVID is the same.

I thought Tinder had solved the "how do I hookup without spending Friday night at some noisy bar dancing with randos" problem?

Yes, and it's both funny and sad.

Actually, I think if I were in a nightclub now at the age of 41, I'd just sit with friends at the bar or in a booth and offer running commentary on everything going on.

didnt rtfa but i think the author is fresh out of college based on their profile

hopefully as they age they will be able to move out of their hip young gig economy serf setting into some sort of bogus second tier inner cool suburb with a partner of whatever gender setup they like and write useful grown-ass articles about practical adult stuff like how to grill a good burger or whatever and not speculative school newspaper fluff like this

tl;dr for the article; im not a girl, not yet a woman
