The episode of NOVA that I watched tonight was about insects as food.  I learned that black ants have a citrus-like flavor from the formic acid.

No. I'll raise my own animals to eat before I go full in on insects.  I have no clue how a person like me with fish and shellfish allergies would react to eating some random bug.

Now I know what you're thinking-milking spiders sounds terribly inefficient. But these dietary adjustments are driven by global warming, which means in just a few years, we'll have an even wider latitude range in which you can grow the spiders as big as house cats.

Local ice cream chain Salt & Straw has its Halloween flavors. Yesterday I got a scoop of Don Bugito's Creepy Crawly Critters. It was very tasty

matcha ice cream with toffee-brittle mealworms and chocolate crickets.

I will burn this godsdamn country to the ground if I'm confronted with a shin high or 10 pound spider.

It's my only phobia and I swear to God's be it between making nice with the farking alien creature that wants nothing more than claw and fang me and liquidate my insides while it scuttles in any direction at abnormal speeds at the drop of a pin, or hanging myself? I'm gonna noose myself.
