Same people who buy PC "Legendary" editions of games which are just the same as the standard, with a soundtrack and downloadable artwork thrown in.

What a bargoon!

Lets be honest here, the bots and scalpers sold it out in 15 minutes.

Eh, I wouldn't buy it, but $100 doesn't seem outrageous by any means.  Now if you're an idiot that pays 3x that from a scalper, then you may have issues.

Depends on how its capacity and cost/month compare to normal mini fridges

I'm sure the base functionality is no different than other mini-fridges.  Undoubtedly you're probably paying a chunk more for the Xbox branding and specialized design aesthetic, but that's always the case.  A quick glance on amazon shows similar capacity (or less) going between $60-$80.  So again, $100 doesn't seem ridiculous at all.

Joey Jo Jo Jr Shabadu: ridiculous

This word you use, I do not think it means what you think it means.

Uh, it means exactly what I think it means.  People spend money on things you and I would think are stupid all of the time.  But we're talking $100 here, for a thing that's actually functional, and doesn't appear to grossly marked up over similar offerings.

No, I really don't think you understand what the word "ridiculous" means, when you think paying $100 for a minifridge that holds 12 cans when you can buy the same thing (plus extras) for literally half the price. To me, spending twice as much money on a can cooler just because it has some fancy lights and graphics on it is pretty much the definition of ridiculous.

Well i cannot say this surprises me, after all the jokes someone was bound to make it a real thing.

I wonder how many people bough it thinking they were getting an actual XBox Series X?

Maybe you want to find a link to one that fills the same capacity, not half.

And again, it's $100.  Not $10,000.  Not $1000.  $100.

We have a spare fridge in our garage that is of the no-frills variety.  But there's a reason we didn't also buy the no-frills model for our kitchen.  The look of it definitely factored into the decision.

What I don't understand, why does anyone care what other people do with their money?
Other people liked it and decided to buy it.
Why do I care?
Why do you?

Probably bought by bots and will soon be on eBay with a 10-20x mark-up.

Yes, but for sure there's a huge actual demand. It was literally the most requested item ever in the Microsoft Company Store (employee only, limit one, resale prohibited) and the site fell over and crashed twice while I was trying to purchase mine. To my memory, no product launch has ever done that.

Left over fried chicken? What is that, never heard of such a thing.
