Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.

Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance.  It's the 7 Ps of management.

"You don't get paid after that, and there was nothing for the designers to do. I had completely forgotten what came next. We had two and a half months' of money left before we ran out, and that would be the end of Morrama."

Sorry what? You own the business and forgot to get new work? Forgot?

i've often found that those who "love planning" are absolute shiat at actually getting anything done.

This. Mrs Kozlo makes lists upon lists upon lists - list for things to do today, lists for things to do for the week, for the month etc. I'm more of a fly-by-the-seat person. Like, lists and planning are helpful but hers are literally a page long and never get completed. I think at this moment there are 4 notebooks around the house full of lists...

the problem is that if you never actually do anything you have no idea how long anything actually takes, how hard it is, what you need to prep or what could go wrong.  I've given up trying to make this point to Mrs Scarf.  I have started to say, sounds good, let me know how it goes and leaving her to attempt to implement her insanity.  i doesn't often go well and never according to her "plan."

I mean you're not wrong. I have a list waiting for me when I get back home from errands as we speak.

Wait... people who are basically paid to do the planning on a ton of stuff say planning shouldn't be left to the last minute?

Inconceivable.
