(Wikipedia)   Today, 10/20, Snoop Dogg turns 50. Which, of course, means that his half-birthday, appropriately enough, is 4/20. Smoke 'em if you got 'em   (en.wikipedia.org) divider line

A half-birthday would be 6 months before your birthday.

Right and how many days is in 6 months.?

Now look at a calendar and count back that many days.

Of course we can't include leap years in this equation and sub was still off by a couple days, 5.

As a real 4/20 birthday I get a kick out of this

Also Tom Petty's birthday, John Krasinski's, Kamala Harris', Mickey Mantle's, Keith Hernandez', Bela Lugosi's, Viggo Mortensen's, Les Stroud's (Survivorman is farking great), US Senator Brian Schatz' (D-HI), former US Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis', and Billy Zabka's.

Why do I care to know this? No reason. :)

// but also Michelle Malkin's and Ken Ham's and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's
// oh, but also Jackie Kennedy Onassis' anniversary with Aristotle

Dr Dreidel: Also Tom Petty's birthday,

I wonder if Tom Petty and Snoop ever had a shared birthday? If they did you would probably need some kind of IR goggles to see through all the smoke.

I refuse to acknowledge July or August.  Everyone knows that September, October, November, and December are months 7,8,9, and 10!!

Representative of the unwashed masses: Ok subby, show your work. Hint it'll be wrong.

Because it's not a real thing anyone actually celebrates, I think many generally refer to half birthdays as the same number date of their birthday, but 6 months apart.  So while subby's technically wrong, they're not actually wrong.

Snoop and I share a b-day. I would be honored to share a joint with the man too

Wow, he's a lot younger than I thought. He's only 2 years older than me.

So, here's the weird thing about this for me...  I always knew that Snoop was pretty close in age to me, since I had worked in a record store when they came out with the soundtrack for Murder Was the Case.  For whatever reason, they had put his birth date as being 1972 on the album cover, so all these years, I had assumed that he was actually younger than me.  (Being as I was born in January.)

I mean, nothing ground-shaking, but now I have to readjust 27 years worth of an assumption.
