Assholes don't need weapons to assault the flight crew, unfortunately.

$10.00 says this person had an 80lbs duffel they were planning on stuffing in an overhead compartment so the wouldn't have to pay baggage check fees.

If you can't bring nail clippers why would anyone think throwing knives would be ok?

Seems like it'd be faster to list the types of knives that are allowed in the cabin of an airplane.

Why would a throwing knife be a threat on a plane?  They fly much faster than you could ever throw a knife. If you tried throwing a knife at someone ahead of you, it would just fly right back and stab you.

But of course if you throw from the front, that thing would be farking moving and would do some serious damage, so I guess I see why you can't bring them.

Butter knives without a sharp point or edge. Serrated knives are not allowed but even butter knives have those really tiny serrations and I let them go if I can do so without getting caught (get in trouble).

Obviously some guy wanted to play knifey-spooney on the flight, and now he's going to have to spend his time reading the skymall catalog.
