So theyre gonna have the children form a line and take turns putting their unmasked faces in the same spot in front of a camera for covid safety? Thats about as dumb as the hospital my friend works at that started funneling everyone through the same entrance.

There are plenty of faster, contactless, non-Orwellian ways to identify people. People seem to trust the tap feature on new credit cards just fine, for example, and the tech is already developed.

how do you know you do not live in a  civilization?
because there is not a consensus among you that when all your children are at school, all the children should be fed.
No questions, if ands or buts about it, all the children, fed.
Do any of you have a problem with unquestionably feeding all the children of your own "civilization?"

Well then you don't really have it.

You think the school photographs we all sat for were for your photo album?
The teacher had a roll of mugshots with the student number on the bottom so she could give police your pic if you went missing and your school record probably also had one.
My cynical self, even at eight years old, wondered what other government departments had copies. This is just the biometric version.

Because having an ID picture on file in some cabinet somewhere is just the same as automatic facial recognition.

The Stasi used to say the same thing about all their filing cabinets.  If you have nothing to hide etc.
Point I'm making is, just because the tech has changed doesn't mean it isn't SAIEW.
