What amazes me is how damn many people got waay seriously into that guy when he was clearly intentionally being nothing but a parody.

When I really want to get my Fucik on, it's gotta be in the original arrangement for calliope.  UGGHHHNN.

Gladiatorial clowns might work - sort of a two clowns enter one clown leaves thing.  Only clown-appropriate weapons allowed

/spoilers: zero clowns actually get to leave

Hated this song during my time as a band geek (this and Shadow of your Smile during Homecoming).

The Donald Duck/Noah's Ark segment of Fantasia 2000 has almost redeemed it for me.

As someone who plays the pipe organ, I have to admit I never expected to see a reference to P&C on Fark. lol

I'd say "NO ONE expects the Pomp & Circumstance!!" But the true is it's an organ standard.

And since everyone apparently assumes we know it by name... (and seriously it's like 2 minutes in before I'm like, oh that one)

I've been batting around a potential project using the Enigma Variations, maybe when I retire next year.  And I only know about that one because one night I couldn't sleep and was listening to the local public radio classical station where they were discussing it at some length.

The depth of my ignorance re: classical is rather, uh, deep.

When my little sister graduated high school, my dad was OBSESSED with finding a copy to play at her graduation party. And of course he dumped that project in MY lap. This was before Youtube had every song under the sun, so I had to resort to... sketchier methods of finding it. Two weeks of work for two minutes of music that she didn't pay two seconds of attention to. And he still thinks it was worth it. Largely because he wasn't the one making it happen, but he sure took the credit.

My sister asked me to rip her graduation video to DVD ages ago. I switched the band music to this audio. She hasn't mentioned it yet... I'm just hoping her kids are watching with her when they finally get to playing it.

As an orchestral percussionist I can say this piece is among the most fun to play orchestral works.  Along with Walton's Crown Imperial March, Borodin's Polovetsian Dances, Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherezade and Tchaikovsky's Capriccio Italien.

Back when I was in high school, whichever band members from both regular band and Wind Ensemble (aka advanced band) were not graduating that year had to perform this song at the graduation ceremony.  We all hated it, especially us percussionists.

We called it "Pump and Circumcise".
