meat0918: It's pee.

I grew some spoon tomatoes this summer that are pea-size. So, like that?

I used to make tomato sauce using a variety called Juliet, it was delicious

Just cracked open a container of those multi-variety snacking cherry tomatoes to go with my leftover chicken curry, eggplant, and rice, so I'm getting a kick.

Fresh cherry tomatoes and a nice tart balsamic is a great snack.

FTA: If you can't find cherry tomatoes, any larger ones will work just as well for this summery pasta sauce recipe.

Gonna disagree with that, unless these larger ones are locally grown.  Cherry/grape tomatoes are pretty much the only ones you can get at a supermarket that actually have any flavor.  So subbing these out with larger flavorless ones isn't going to work nearly as well.

I love making salsa with home grown cheery tomatoes.

However picking all those little bastards to make enough salsa is frigging time consuming.

Sounds like you need a cherry picker.

😎

I'll show myself out now.

seriously ^this. I cannot recall a single time buying the little dealies where it didn't taste like... tomatoes.

I don't know if it is only local, but I noticed the last two years the skins on the little buggers seem thicker and less digestible.

But I am funny with tomatoes. I don't like any cooked unless you are on the way to make a sauce. A raw tomato in season is a special thing. Even off season I like raw better. Although more for the mouth feel than the taste.

Definitely something to be said for the mouth feel of a nice cherry.

One of the rare threads that didn't have a chance before anybody even made a comment.

And then the comments made it even better worse.

My most recent gusher was pumpkin pie.  I bust out the mattress pad when she comes over.
