There is no reason for Democrats to be so hostile towards progressives. And there's no excuse. They seem to believe it's wrong to want better than...*waves around* this absolute shiat country.

Democrats are the absolute worst!

So why is he still NY Dem Chairman?

Oh yeah; good earner.  And a white man.

Nevermind.

State parties are weird. Established blue-state ones like NY have a hard-on fit establishment centrists, and red-state ones like NE fight for progressives. I guess when you're living in the shiat it just makes more sense to shoot for the moon.

I mean, all he had to say was "I don't feel its required for the party to endorse all candidates" if I'm reading that mishmash of an article correctly. It would still be a dubious sentiment, but that's really all he had to say.

Why bring Duke into it? Like, why? That jumps from dubious to "GFY."

2021-10-19 2:02:49 AM
That isn't really a comparison, as such.

The counter to "you guys have to do X with a Y" is to point out a Y to which we'd all agree they didn't have to do X to.

"You have to eat what I cook for dinner"
"What if you cook a piece of dung"
"You are saying my lasagna is like poop?"
"No"

I know nothing about this woman, but now I know she doesn't understand basic logic and leaps at the chance to play victim.

Ooohhhh I see what he did. He must be a lawyer. He was trying to argue about what could go wrong if officials were compelled to endorse everyone who wins a primary election, just because they won. He didn't endorse Walton, and must've caught some flack for not endorsing her. Instead of pretending he was a supreme court justice and the journalist was obligated to answer his hypotheticals, he hould have just said Walton won without his vote and he wishes her well in the election.

What is kind of even more ironic, though, is that Donald Trump is the perfect example of someone who won a primary and really, really, really, should have been denied endorsements. So the American have a perfect example of Jacobs' point, right now. Jacobs should not have been criticized in the first place, because Trump taught everyone that endorsing their conscience is more important than endorsing their party line. But he was criticized, and he did reply with a KKKooky reply, and here we are.

So now you're comparing her to Trump like THAT is okay? Why is she so radical?

What does he not like about her? Other than she's going to dry up those corporate donations faster than a miss America pageant being visited by Trump?

The New York State Democratic Party Chairman, speaking in an official capacity for the party, compared a black female Democrat to David Duke. You're comparing her to Donald Trump.

Your metaphors really suck.

What we have learned (again) is that centrists will not Vote Blue No Matter Who when it comes to progressive Democrats.

Conservative Democratic will burn the farking party to the ground before they give up power.

See also: Harry Reid's Nevada Democrats who stole all the money from the state party to build a parallel party structure working out of a county office when a progressive was elected as chairwoman of the state party.

Time and again, centrists refuse to play ball with progressives. That's why Vote Blue No Matter Who is so hollow. It only applies to progressives voting for wannabe Republicans and is never reciprocated by conservative "centrists" to support progressives.

The lesson? Burn the centrists out of the party.

It's even more amusing when you fire up the way back machine and go look at who Schumer campaigned for in CT when Lieberman ran as a 3rd party candidate against Ned Lamont, after Lieberman lost the primary.

Then you can go back to staying home or writing in mickey mouse.

But in this case, you could just vote for her in the primary, and then again in the general.

NYS is farking weird. I have lived there many years, in both the western portion, the central portion, the Catskills portion and the upstate portion. It is a pretty state. Lots to see and do. The weather sucks though, like most of the northeastern states. Moved to Utah finally to be done with that place. Better to live in a predictable shiathole than that weirdness.

When a massive chunk of state tax revenue comes from the financial industry, a golden goose that is quite aware it has wings and can use them, you learn to play nice.

Even with this annual windfall in tax revenue, the state has been so poorly run that if someone of means with a presence in NY can manage not to be a New Yorker for tax purposes, they do it.

If I had their kind of money, I'd do the same. The money goes into Albany and...what? The poor don't get noticeably better services, the roads are for shiat, the schools are middle-of-the-pack or worse outside of the high-dollar suburbs, and it took them 40 years to figure out that Trump might just have been giving them the runaround on his taxes.

For that last one they want to be hailed as crusaders for truth and justice. Yeah, okay.

There's only one way to stop America from becoming a socialist hellhole like Norway and that's to push progressives down any time they raise their heads.

Where it can be popcorn level fun to watch: Walton won the primary in June versus the current Democratic 3 term mayor (Byron Brown is a black man). Current mayor is currently courting anyone he can to get endorsements to win a write in (since he went to court to try to keep his name on the ballots and lost,)

So, would he take an endorsement from a spokesman making clan comparisons? He has been known to favor ways of getting more money for the city that somehow does not trickle down to its citizens as much as his associates.

Thanks for jogging my memory about the Buffalo Billion corruption scandal!

Having the money clearly isn't the problem in Buffalo, seeing as the state just set a billion's worth on fire there.

Long as she's not a crook or a hack, she's off to a good-ish start.
