He and Gus Johnson need to do a game together before either one dies.  It will be great with the sound off.

You kids missed this guy in his prime. Sure, he could be a little annoying, but he brought complete passion to what he did.

I hope he can get through treatments. Good luck you crazy old man! Yeah baby!

As much as I hate cancer, now is the time it should cover the spread.

The over/under on an 80+ year old with lymphoma is 2 years.

ASU basketball game, circa 2000 or so (old man is old).  Holiday tourney;  ASU invites three cupcakes to town to win their own holiday tournament.

I go in the arena with my wife and parents (huge ASU fans).  We see none other than Bobby Knight and his wife in the cheap seats, all by themselves.  He'd just been dismissed by Indiana 2 months earlier.  Me to dad:  "holy shiat!  do you see him?"  Fans slowly start filling in the arena.  Pre-cell phone era, people start to recognize him. Instead of him and his wife, and rows of empty seats, it becomes people lining up for autographs and some had cameras, and Knight, stone faced, poses for a few pictures.  But you can tell he's not happy.  Not a smile. Autograph here, picture there, stonefaced.  After 10 minutes, he calls security over, they escort him and his wife out.  His face is red.

Family and I keep walking, seeing this, and we turn the corner.  Dickie V!  He's like, 5'6". He "became" Dickie V.  "Tempe baby, Arizona State, baby, I love it here, you got the sun all day, Wells Fargo arena, can't beat this, no place I'd rather be, baby!"  Shook hands, got his autograph (lost it), but yeah.  THe time I saw Coach Knight and Dickie V about 3 minutes apart.

Baby.

He was fine until the early 2000s, and then there wasn't a single Duke player he wouldn't orgasm over.

/Always wanted to hear him narrate the frat party where Reggie Love passed out and got shiat written all over his face.

Now that Coach K is retiring, Dickie V's will to live has disappeared.

Agreed. It annoys me that Vitale is arguably the most famous person from my college.
