Hmm.  I wonder if this would work for Shogren's.

Of course, it will be about $500 per onespray, so mostly a moo point.

Uhhhh, Chantix was just recalled en masse because varenicline is a carcinogen. Lul, this is exactly why the FDA is garbage, and the Left wants to be all, "but FDA approval matters." Tell that to the multiple shelves filled with OTC snake oil in every major supermarket, and "approvals" like OP.

Fixed that for me. Also, Sjogren's patients don't only get dry eyes...

I know but it's the one I hear about QUITE OFTEN.

Cue people yelling "but it is a quitting with smoking aid!" when people use it for eye disease. Because we learned in the last few months that if something is made for one thing, it can never be used for anything else.

/Yes, I know it has not been proven to work against covid
//The point still stands because it has been proven to work against other things that aren't horse parasites

I don't even know where to start with this.

Varenicline itself is not a carcinogen.
What was found in those batches of Pfizer's varenicline that is a concern to the FDA is unacceptable levels of nitrosamines, the same thing that caused Zantac (ranitidine) to be recalled. Then they couldn't get the levels of that down in ranitidine so it was totally taken off the market.

A couple/few months ago the FDA approved use in the US of a Canadian generic version of Chantix (varenicline); the US has no generic version because Pfizer's patent doesn't expire until February 2022.

I have a prescription of the Canadian version sitting right here. It's still to be seen if Pfizer's Chantix gets totally banned or if the problem can be corrected.

Plenty of drugs have been found, proven, to work for things other than what they were prescribed for.

Maybe I'm reading you wrong, but your tone seems a little hostile to me, why is that?

I take an old-school cholesterol drug called colestipol, not for high cholesterol, but because it has been proven to bind bile. I started producing too much bile after I had my colon removed. That literally burns your ass.

Because I wanted to point out a bit of hypocrisy that goes around here.

That and I don't want to get death wishes from people on here for being a "plague rat" from people who are all "we believe in science here on fark and everyone should do so or they are morons" but will go with gut feelings and emotional framing whenever it suits them.

You must be talking about the Pol tab. I try to only dip my toes in there now and again.

And these people would get less mocked if they weren't eschewing a vaccine which has been proven to be effective against Covid by taking something which hasn't.

Oh no no no no no no... Chantix? No, not in any form. If you have chronic dry eye try TheraTears Nutrition capsules first. For something like 12 bucks a month I can wear contacts - just like when these eyes were... youthful and naturally moist.

/Don't do Lasix type surgery.

I pretty much never go to the pol tab. Just click any covid related article and see people calling people plague rats and saying things in the vein of "they should just die" and "things would be better if they were all gone".

Sounds like you're trying to talk like a plague rat for some reason unrelated to being a plague rat. Maybe you should knock that shiat off.

Because being called out on double standards hurts? Or because only the Party Line is allowed to be uttered and anyone who doesn't comply should have a nice chat with the political officer? Or is it because the truth might confuse people into doing the wrong thing?

Either way the line "but it is horse dewormer" is an empty statement dealing only in framing and emotion, not science. Yet people love throwing out how science should be the only relevant part.

Ivermectin ahouldn't be used against corona because it isn't effective. Not because "it was devised as an anti-parasitic" as that says nothing about its efficacy against other diseases.
